A Note from Mrs. Wilder
We are off to the races here at Eaton Elementary! The first three weeks have been filled with relationship building, procedures, and NWEA testing. We are getting back into the routine of school work and homework, and the kids are really doing a nice job. As always, thank you so much for your support at home as we work together to make this the best year possible for your child.
If you have not started using ParentSquare yet, please be sure you explore this communication tool. We encourage you to download the ParentSquare app and connect to Delaware Community Schools. You can also access ParentSquare through a web browser if you prefer. This tool will be used to communicate important happenings and general information from your child's teacher and myself. If you have any trouble logging in, please contact the office so we can help.
Eaton Elementary Reading Challenge
Thank you all so much for your support with our Eaton Elementary Reading Challenge! The kids have all been very excited about this challenge, and it has been fun to hear them talk about it. Since this is a year-long challenge with quarterly goals, the challenge may lose its luster at some point. That said, it will take all of us to model and encourage that love of reading each and every day.
Transportation
It is our goal to get your child home to you safely and correctly each day. To ensure this happens, we ask that you send transportation notes when plans change. We have pink notes in the office that we can send home with your child so you can communicate changes with us. If a change arises while your child is at school, PLEASE call the office by 12:30. Last minute changes are difficult to accommodate.
We have many students whose schedules change frequently, and it can become very difficult to keep everyone straight. We must have clear, written communication to help us out. Thank you for your help with this!
News from Mrs. Clark
Hello, my name is Anna Clark and I am the school counselor at Eaton Elementary. This is my 19th year as a school counselor (9th at Eaton) and I am excited to work with you and your students! As the school counselor, my job is to support your child’s social and emotional wellness as well as his/her academic success. I do this in a variety of ways here at school: conducting one-on-one or small group sessions targeting social and academic needs, delivering weekly lessons in the classroom focusing on social and emotional development, supporting teachers with any needs they have with students, and working with the community to provide you with extra support. My goal is to assist you and our students in any way that I can! Please feel free to contact me by phone or email (aclark@delcomschools.org) if you have questions or concerns about your child.
Volunteer Information
Background checks are required to volunteer in any capacity including but not limited to classroom parties, field trips, chaperoning PTO events, etc. Background checks must be done every school year. If you plan to attend a field trip, please make sure your background check is on file. These take time to complete, so make sure you plan ahead. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to check with the office if the background check has been completed. You can do this by calling the office, or emailing hdrown@delcomschools.org.

Message for Delta Eagles Football Games
Dear Delta Eagle Families,
As we enjoy the excitement of Friday night football games, we want to make sure everyone stays safe and has a great time cheering on our team!
To help keep our younger fans safe and supervised, please remember:
Elementary students should remain seated with their parents or guardians throughout the game. This helps us ensure they’re safe and accounted for at all times.
For safety reasons, students are not allowed to run or climb under the bleachers.
Please do not bring footballs, tennis balls, or similar toys into the stadium so that all students can focus on the game and stay safe.
Thank you for your help in making our games fun and safe for everyone. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you cheering on the Delta Eagles!
Upcoming Game Dates:
September 12 Yorktown
September 26 (Homecoming) New Castle
October 17 New Palestine

Parent and Family Support Hub
The Indiana Department of Education has created this resource for parents and families across the state. This collection of videos and articles provides caregivers with tips on how to support their child's education and development. If you are interested in looking at these resources, you do have to create an account, but it is quick and simple to do. Here is a quick tutorial video that will walk you through the process of account creation, plus it includes a tour of the Parent Hub. Check out the Indiana Learning Lab Parent and Family Support Hub today!
