Hello Woodcrest Families,
We are officially one week away from the first day of school, and the anticipation of a new school year is building throughout Woodcrest Elementary School!
Teachers and staff have been in and out of school throughout the last week, decorating classrooms and preparing materials to welcome your children on Tuesday, September 3. We are excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways, bringing energy and enthusiasm for learning. Our goal is to ensure that each child feels welcomed, connected and part of the Woodcrest community.
Teachers will be sending home communication to students and families this week. I encourage you to share these messages with your child(ren), and to maintain these open lines of communication throughout the year. Together, we can provide the support and guidance our students need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally this year.
Please be on the lookout for additional Woodcrest communication this week. More details will be shared about arrival and dismissal procedures, specifically for the first two days of school. I also look forward to seeing many of our new Sharks at the following events.
Kindergarten Orientation: Thursday, August 29 at 2:45 in K classrooms
New Student Welcome: Thursday, August 29 at 3:00 in the small APR
I hope you enjoy these last few days of summer vacation with your family and friends. I look forward to seeing all of our Woodcrest Sharks on September 3!
Sincerely,
Alison McCartney
