Tiger Talk
04/09/24

Dear Tiger Community,
We hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to seek your support with an important aspect of our school day—punctuality. Ensuring that students are in their respective classrooms by 7:40 AM is crucial for a productive start to the day.
Our team makes every effort to warmly welcome students each morning, assisting with opening car doors to ensure a smooth and positive beginning to their day. This initial interaction is not just about smiles and greetings; it sets the tone for the learning and activities that follow.
Despite these efforts, we have noticed a rising trend in student tardiness. As teaching and learning activities commence promptly at 7:40 AM, arriving on time is imperative for your child to benefit fully from the educational opportunities provided.
We understand that mornings can be hectic, but we kindly ask for your cooperation in making punctuality a priority. Here are a few suggestions that might help:
Prepare the Night Before: Encourage your child to pack their school bag, lay out their clothes, and decide on their breakfast the night before. This can significantly reduce morning stress and save time.
Establish a Routine: A consistent morning routine can help make getting ready faster and more efficient. Consider creating a checklist or a schedule to ensure that nothing is missed.
Account for Extra Time: Sometimes, unexpected delays can happen. Planning to leave a few minutes earlier than necessary can provide a buffer for those last-minute surprises.
Your support in this matter is invaluable, and together, we can ensure that every student starts their day ready to learn and succeed. If you are facing challenges that make punctuality difficult, please feel free to reach out. We are here to help and find solutions together.
Thank you for your attention to this important aspect of our school day. We are grateful for your partnership in fostering an environment where learning thrives from the moment the school day begins.
Warm Regards,
Amy Russ

Have a super interesting career?
If so, we hope you are willing to be a guest speaker for WCHE's Career Day on Thursday, May 9! We would be honored for you to share your expertise and excitement about your career with our students! By introducing our Tigers to a broad range of career possibilities, we hope to ignite new interests as they consider their future careers.
We are looking for parents or community members who would be willing to speak to classes of students about their jobs, when they first knew that they wanted to pursue this career, what was required to get them in that position (education,) how their job relates to their interests now, the most rewarding part of their job, and the most difficult part of their job. They will also have an opportunity to "show and tell" with props, photos, video clips, or demonstrations. Finally, they will be able to answer student questions.
Speakers will present to a particular grade level on Thursday, May 9, and they will present 4-5 sessions approximately 20 - 25 min each. Speakers will be selected by our Social Emotional Learning Team with the goal of representing a variety of career fields. If we have multiple volunteer speakers from similar career fields, speakers will be selected randomly.
