Every day is a great day to be a Tiger!
Dear St. James R-1 School District Families,
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! We are thrilled to see our Tigers back on campus, ready for a year full of learning, growth, and new experiences.
This year, we are excited to launch Rooms, a new feature in our district app that helps families stay connected with everything happening at school. Through Rooms, you can send messages to staff, receive classroom updates, announcements, and information about sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities—all in one convenient place.
Strong communication is a key part of student success. Rooms gives you the tools to stay informed, engaged, and involved in your child’s learning and activities. If you haven’t already, please download the district app and explore Rooms today:
We’ve also created a webpage with additional resources to help you get started with Rooms and learn more about how it supports communication in our district. You can find it here: https://www.stjschools.org/page/rooms
Let’s make 2025-26 a year of connection, growth, and achievement for every Tiger!
Sincerely,
Tim Webster
Superintendent
St. James R-1 School District
Sincerely,
Save the Date: 24th Annual Community Tailgate Party!
Mark your calendars for one of our favorite Tiger traditions! Join us Friday, September 19th, from 5:00–6:30 PM for the 24th Annual Community Tailgate Party! This event brings together our entire Tiger Community, including local organizations, businesses, families, and district staff, to celebrate the start of a new school year.
Enjoy food, drinks, and plenty of school spirit before cheering on the Tigers at our first home football game of the season at 7:00 PM. Normal gate fees apply for entry to the tailgate and the game.
Shoutout to Phelps Health for sponsoring the 24th Annual Community Tailgate! Their support makes this beloved tradition possible and helps our Tigers and community come together for a day full of fun, food, and festivities.
You can access the academic calendar anytime on our website to stay updated on important dates and events. Simply visit www.stjschools.org, click on the MENU tab, and then select DISTRICT to find the calendar. Here's the direct link for quick access: Academic Calendar.
As we begin the 2025-26 school year, our theme All Roads Lead Forward reminds us that every step our students take brings them closer to their future. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, on stage, or through community involvement, each experience helps them grow and move ahead.
Families and community members are an essential part of this journey. Your support and involvement create the pathways that guide our students toward success. Together, we help them discover opportunities, overcome challenges, and keep moving in the right direction.
This year, let’s celebrate the many roads our Tigers will travel and the progress they will make along the way. No matter where the journey begins, all roads lead forward.
At St. James R-1, our mission has always been to empower students for success. The Portrait of a Graduate is our vision for what that success looks like beyond the classroom: skills, mindsets, and values that prepare every student to thrive in college, careers, and community life.
It focuses on five essential strengths:
- Effective Communication
- Critical Thinking
- Social Integrity
- Engaged Citizenship
- Future-Focused Mindset
This is more than a document. It’s a commitment to our students and our community. We’ll continue sharing how the Portrait of a Graduate is coming to life in our classrooms and programs throughout the year.
All buildings will go to https://www.wagnerportraitgroup.com/ to complete your order.

The St. James R-1 School District encourages ALL families to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application for the upcoming 2025–26 school year.
Submitting this application, even if you do not qualify for free or reduced meals, helps the district qualify for important funding. These resources support student programs, including technology, activity fee assistance, Title I services, and additional grant opportunities.
The application is available online at https://linqconnect.com/public/meal-application/new?identifier=F74DUX
If you need assistance with your application, Linq Connect has a built-in chat feature to provide support. Thank you!
Thanks to the generosity of the St. James Missouri Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, every student 15 and under received a FREE carnival wristband, good for all three days at the St. James Grape and Fall Festival! Our community’s support empowers every student to learn, grow, and enjoy memorable experiences that make life brighter!
The Red Regiment Band brought energy to this year’s Grape and Fall Festival Parade, a tradition that draws one of the largest crowds in our community! With both the middle school and high school bands marching together, their music filled the streets and showcased the dedication and talent of our students and staff. We couldn’t be prouder of how they represented St. James and celebrated the Tiger spirit for all to hear!
