AHS November Updates

For our 1st nine week period AHS recognized many students.

A Honor Roll -- 367 students

A/B Honor Roll -- 388

Amazing Tiger -- 58

Perfect Attendance -- 51

5% or better attendance -- 700

40 Students who had 5% or less truancy rate won gift cards from Dutch Brother, Dunkin Donuts or McDonalds thanks to our Business in schools partners. Big shout out to Southwest Heritage Bank, First National Bank and Zuni Electric. Each 9 week period we will draw for winners. We will continue to keep these names for a final Grand drawing in in May. Thanks to OFCU, 1 student from each grade level will be drawn for a $100 gift car. Good attendance pays off.

November 4th (Tuesday) Voting Day -- No School

November 6th -- Picture Re-takes

November 7th-- Veterans Day Assembly

November 11th, Tuesday, Veterans Day -- No School

November 14th & 21st -- Business in schools partners will have lunchtime activities for students.

November 19th -- AHS Thanksgiving Lunch/ Dinner

November 24- 28 -- Thanksgiving Break

December 17 - 19 -- Mid Term Exams. Schedule will be attached next month. Wednesday students will be out around 2, Thursday and Friday, students will be out about lunch. Bus riders will stay in library. Early exams will not be permitted. Students leaving early for the holiday will need to test in January upon the start of school.

December 22- January 5th - Winter Break. Students return on January 6th

Thanksgiving Lunch with cafeteria will be on Wednesday, November 19th. The cost is $7 a person.

Please watch for upcoming information from APS communications about purchasing a ticket as well as RSVP'ing to the event.

These are here in perfect time for the cool fall weather!! You can purchase one at the AHS bookstore for $25. The amount ordered was based off the interest that was shown in form sent out previously. Get yours while they last.

The AHS bookstore only accepts checks and cash.

These will be available for Purchas the beginning of November in the AHS Bookstore.

As we get closer to May, there will be a lot more information about graduation and events around it. Currently, scholarships are being posted in the Class of 2026 Google Classroom. Scholarships are posted as assignments so all students get a notification about it. We encourage all students to check the class of 2026 Google classroom regularly to see what information is being posted.

Are you interested in transitioning to online learning? Please fill out the form and read over the expectations for being in our Flex Path Program. We will set up meeting in December to discuss options with those who qualify.

Perfect Attendance -- Students with perfect attendance each 9 week period get a ticket for a snack along with honor roll snacks.

5% or less attendance -- Each 9 week period, students with 5% or less attendance rate will receive a free personal pizza from Pizza 9. Students are also entered into a drawing for different donated gift cards.

Zero Tardy -- Another AHS incentive to help with attendance is the Zero Tardy Goal. We have soooo many students who get to class on time everyday. Students who have ZERO tardy's after week 6 of the 9 week period will receive a ticket that can be used for a 100 on a homework grade or +10 points on a test in a class of their choice.

AHS would love to do more for our students who do the right things. If you know or own a business that would like to partner with AHS to give incentives for Grades and attendance, please email me.

Our Band Boosters won an award through NEA for their parent participation. They show amazing participation and were recognized for that.

Parents with Purpose is a collaborative group of AHS parents and caregivers dedicated to creating a positive, health environment of our students, staff and faculty. We work together to support school events, promote kindness and empowerment, and help build a stronger AHS community.

Chalk the Walk –

Parents with Purpose will be hosting their FIRST event on November 2nd from 11am-2pm. Join us in helping create a CHALK WALK to welcome students with motivational quotes, phrases or pictures. We are looking for volunteers to help us decorate the sidewalks at AHS as well as donations of chalk or paint brushes. Donations can be dropped off at the AHS front office by 10/31.
