Deer Run Families,
We had a wonderful week of learning and engagement here at Deer Run! Our students truly enjoyed the visit from the Columbus Zoo. It was an exciting and enriching experience that brought learning to life in a memorable way for all of our learners.
A special thank you to our Deer Run PTO for hosting and supporting this event. Opportunities like this would not be possible without your continued generosity and commitment to our school community.
As we head into Spring Break, we hope that you and your family have time to relax, recharge, and enjoy some fun together. We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready for a strong finish to the school year.
Thank you for your continued support of Deer Run!
Happy Spring Break!

Sexual Abuse Prevention Lessons
Deer Run Parents,
During the month of April, each kindergarten through fifth-grade class will receive instruction on the prevention of child sexual abuse. This instruction will be delivered during each class's monthly guidance lesson.
These lessons are guided by the state of Ohio. All students in kindergarten through grade six are required by state law (Ohio Senate Bill 288), starting in the 2023-2024 school year, to receive annual instruction on the prevention of child sexual abuse.
Dublin City Schools values our partnership with parents. All parents and guardians are invited to view the instructional materials for these lessons, along with a lesson opt-out form, by clicking here.
If you would like to request that your child be excused from participating in this state-required sexual abuse prevention instruction, please complete the opt-out form by April 3, 2026.
Syntero Summer Groups
Registration opens on May 5 at Noon to register to Syntero Summer Groups. Information will be available via a flyer that will be sent home with students.
When to Stay Home
We are experiencing a lot of illness in the classrooms. Please keep the following in mind before sending your student to school. Always make sure there is someone available on your emergency contacts list to pick up your child in a timely fashion.
Your child is too ill to go to school if he or she has any of the following symptoms:
- Temperature above 100.4°F
- Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
- Shortness of breath or an increase in wheezing during normal activity
- Has a cough that interrupts normal activity
- Rash over the body or localized to one area of the body
- Fatigue and needs bed rest (common with flu-like symptoms)
- Signs of conjunctivitis such as red, crusty or swollen eyes
Upload Absence Documentation via Campus Parent Portal
Dublin City Schools families now have a new, convenient option for submitting absence documentation through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Receive a medical note after reporting your child’s absence? Instead of sending a paper copy or a separate email, simply log in and upload it directly to the existing request.
After logging in, select More and then Absence Request. Click View Requests, locate the prior absence in the list, and open it. From there, select Upload Document and choose your file.
Using this feature saves paper, eliminates an extra trip to the office and reduces additional emails to attendance secretaries. It is a small step that helps streamline processes across Dublin City Schools. We appreciate families taking advantage of this new option to support efficient, timely communication.
Dismissal Changes
In the event of an emergency and the need to change a student's dismissal method be sure to send an email to the classroom teacher AND the attendance email (Dres_attendance@dublinschools.net). Teachers are extremely busy during the school day, therefore, it is not guaranteed that the teacher would have time to review the parent email prior to dismissal. Be sure to submit changes as early as possible to increase the likelihood that the communication will be received by our school team prior to dismissal.
Student Car Drop Off and Pick Up
As a reminder, car drop off and pick up for all students should take place at the back door of the school. Last school year, students were being dropped off at Grizzell, in the school parking lot, and in the neighborhood adjacent to the school. We want to ensure that all of our students are safely dropped off at school, therefore only the backdoor area should be used. Also, we also want to be considerate of our neighbors that live in the homes adjacent to the school. Therefore, adhering to this guidelines is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
