Broadmeadow Families,

I am happy to announce that Ms. Colleen Clark has been hired to teach kindergarten at Broadmeadow next year. Colleen graduated from Westfield State University and earned her masters from Lesley University. She is currently working as an instructional assistant in Ms. Scott’s classroom. Prior to her current role, Colleen interned in both Ms. Duca’s second grade classroom and Ms. Shaby’s kindergarten classroom. We are so excited to welcome Colleen to a new role on our team.

Below this message is information from School Resource Officer Nicole McMahon about an upcoming learning opportunity for parents about how to keep kids safe online.

Do good. Be kind.

4th and 5th Grade SY26-27 Co-Curricular Performing Arts Opportunities

The Fine and Performing Arts Department offers three co-curricular Elementary Honors Ensembles (Band, Chorus, and Strings) which meet after school and involve students from all of the Elementary Schools. These ensembles are a great opportunity to deepen your musical skills and make friends across Town. These ensembles perform in two evening concerts per year (January and May) and go “on tour” (a field trip) to the other elementary schools in January to perform for their peers. Attendance at these concerts is mandatory for participation in these ensembles.

Rehearsals for all groups will begin the Week of September 22, 2026.

Auditions for Honors Band and Strings will be held in May.

String Auditions: Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Band Auditions: Wednesday, May 27, 2026

These ensembles are fee-based. The fees for SY26-27 are anticipated to be $250 per ensemble/ $56 sibling rate or second ensemble fee pending School Committee approval. Financial assistance is available. Families are responsible for transportation to and from rehearsals.
