Icelandic Book Flood, Friday December 19th
Students will be celebrating the Iceland tradition of Jólabókaflóð (Icelandic Book Flood) next week. In Iceland, books are exchanged on Christmas Eve, and people spend the rest of the night reading. They take their books to bed along with some chocolate. Classroom teachers read The Christmas Book Flood in their classes for students to better understand the tradition.
Wiggin Street students chose 2-3 books to take home to read over Winter Break. They also received a bookmark to go with their books to explain the holiday as well as a packet of hot chocolate mix courtesy of Friends of Wiggin Street.

Winter Weather
Please remember that students will go outside on days where the temperature with wind chill accounted for is 20°f and above. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Coats, hats, and gloves are necessary at this time of the year. Boots are required for playing in the snow. If you need assistance with winter outerwear for your child, please contact our school, and we will happily find warm clothes for them.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found- Being Donated after December 20th over the break
Please remind your student to get their sweatshirts and jackets from lost and found. You can also submit this form to let us know what you are looking for, and we will do our best to get it to your child.
Remember that it is helpful to label all jackets, lunchboxes, bookbags. Donations will be made over winter break, so please remind your child to check out the Lost and Found.
