Message from Mrs. Ouche
Wow, we have arrived (almost) at the end of what you have all been working so hard to accomplish! Graduation is literally right around the corner, the culmination of all your efforts is about to pay off (both students and parents) and I couldn't be more proud. If there are any questions about the next two weeks before graduation please ask, everyone is hoping for this to be smooth sailing!

Senior Events
Commencement and all awards ceremonies are positive traditions at Parkrose. It is my hope that all students will be able to participate in the activities surrounding graduation. The school does no sponsor, support or sanction a "skip day" or "sleep over" for seniors. We also do not sponsor or support senior trips promoted by companies that are not affiliated with the school. If you are unsure of a company's affiliation, please call the school.
BACCALAUREATE:
The Class of 2023 has voted to reinstate Baccalaureate for this year. This event will be held on Monday, June 12th at 6pm at Mannahouse. Beloved and retiring teacher Richard English will be the speaker of honor. This is just the first of many opportunities this week for the Class of 2023 to spend remembering what has led to this momentous week!
SENIOR AWARDS:
We will celebrate the excellence of the Class of 2023 with an evening of academic achievements. This event will take place on Tuesday, June 13th at 6:30pm in the Parkrose High School Theater. Students will be recognized by teachers from all departments as well as recognition for school and community based scholarships and awards. You don't want to miss out on this evening!
GRAD WALK/SENIOR MEAL:
The Grad Walk and Senior Meal will take place on the morning of Wednesday, June 14th. We ask that Seniors arrive at the HS at 8:15am with their caps/gowns. This is a time for the class to come together and remember the past 12 years, the friendships they have formed, the hurdles they have overcome and all the memories in between. Students will then board buses and head to walk the halls of our Elementary schools and finally one last walk through the Middle School. This event gives our younger Parkrose students the opportunity to see what is at the end of their schooling, graduation! Seniors are asked to wear their caps/gowns for this event!
GRADUATION PRACTICE:
Following the Grad Walk, we will take one final picture of the Class of 2023, they will be gathered to watch a Senior Slideshow presented by the leadership team and then they will participate in grad practice. Graduation Practice is MANDATORY, as we are hosting graduation offsite this year it is important that Seniors attend Graduation Practice so they know what to expect on the night of graduation. Grad Practice is also mandatory in order to receive your tickets for Graduation. Tickets will be handed out right after practice, we hope to have Seniors finished up around 12:30pm. If you have any questions about this please email Nicole Maynard at nicole_maynard@parkrose.k12.or.us.
SENIOR ALL NIGHT PARTY:
The SANP is provided by the parent planning committee. This year it will not be on graduation night, but the week before so you can truly enjoy both events. Click here to sign up for the night of your life! Please see below for information:

Important Reminders
ATTENDANCE:
"Senioritis" is real, encourage your student to hang in there! Maintaining attendance clear to the end can be difficult for some senior students, especially as they near the end. However, attendance is the number one key to graduation, please help us help your student reach their end goal by encouraging strong attendance all the way up to the end. If you are concerned about your student's attendance please reach out to the attendance office by calling 503.408.2600 or speak with your student's counselor!
CREDITS:
Please be sure to review your student's grades and reach out if you have questions about whether or not your senior is on track for graduation. Our counselors are happy to speak with you and work with your senior!
BEHAVIOR:
For some unknown reason, there are times where seniors don't see that school rules still apply to them until they graduate. Nothing is further from reality! We never want to have to disclude a senior from participating in graduation or the activities that lead up to it, we hope that all of our Broncos can continue to follow all school regulations.
