Blue Rapids Elementary
It's all blue skies in Blue Rapids
It was an exciting week in the Blue Rapids building. We just received results this week and I am incredibly proud of our students, teachers, and staff, as our 3rd–6th graders performed exceptionally well on their state assessments. On average, the Blue Rapids building scored 16 points above the state average in English Language Arts, 21 points above the state average in Math, and 4 points above the state average in science. A huge congratulations to our Blue Rapids students, teachers, and staff for yet another high‑performing year.
Students also enjoyed several memorable field trips this week. The 5th and 6th grades went to Topeka and toured the Capitol getting an up close look at our state government. On May 11th, our 6th graders attended orientation at the Jr. High School, where they received a wealth of information to support their transition into 7th grade. The building had some special visitors on Tuesday as the seniors walked the hall and actually were able to run the halls as they missed out on this tradition six years ago when they were sixth graders due to in school attendance being suspended due to Covid. To cap off the year we will celebrate our 6th grade promotion on Tuesday, May 19th at 2 p.m.
Here are some upcoming dates to remember:
- 3rd - 6th Year End Program/6th gr Promotion - May 19th
- Last Day of School - Dismissal @ 12:30 pm - May 20th
As always, thank you for the privilege and blessing that it is to work with your children. My door is always open if you have any concerns or you need to visit.
