College Park Band Shines at UIL State Marching Contest
I’m incredibly proud to share the news that our College Park Band competed among the 42 best 6A high school bands in the state at the UIL State Marching Contest earning an impressive 25th place finish!
Our directors teach students to focus on what they can control, their own performance, rather than placements or scores. That approach has helped our students grow tremendously and perform with confidence. They left the field knowing they gave their best performance of the year, in front of nearly 10,000 people at the Alamodome!
If you see one of our band or guard students, please take a moment to congratulate them. This is truly the best version of the College Park Band ever! I am so proud of their dedication, teamwork, and excellence.
I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parent volunteers who have supported the band all year, their time, energy, and commitment make all the difference in creating these unforgettable experiences for our students.

How to write a Teacher Achieving Excellence Nomination
- Log in to your account. Navigate to the Conroe ISD Single Sign-On (SSO) page at https://sso.conroeisd.net/ and log in using your parent credentials.
- Access the Parent Access portal. Once logged in, click on "Parent Access".
- Find the nomination form. Select "Communication" from the menu and then click on "Teachers/Staff Excellence".
- Select the staff member. You will be able to search for and select the specific teacher you want to recognize. If you have multiple children, be sure to select the correct student to find the right staff member for that school.
- Write your comments. You can select positive qualities that apply to the teacher and add a personal message in the comments section. To make your nomination most effective, focus on specific examples of their exceptional work.
- Share specific examples. Instead of general praise, describe a particular situation where the teacher went above and beyond. Mention a project that engaged your child, a time they offered extra support, or how they fostered a positive classroom environment.
- Describe the impact. Explain how the teacher's actions benefited your child's learning or well-being. For example, "Mrs. Smith helped my daughter feel more confident about reading by letting her choose books from the classroom library."
- Keep it personal and concise. A heartfelt, specific nomination is more memorable than a long, generic one.
What to highlight in your writing
- Positive impact: How they inspired your child's love for a subject.
- Going above and beyond: When they offered extra help or stayed late to support a student.
- Building a relationship: How they connected with your child on a personal level.
- Communication: If they kept you well-informed and were responsive to your concerns.
- Classroom environment: How they created a positive, supportive, and safe learning space for all students.

CPHS wants All Cavaliers to Achieve. A large part of student success is related to student attendance. We want to teach our Cavs all we can in the days that we have with them. Please encourage your student to attend every period to gain the knowledge they need to be successful. In the event your child does miss school, please be sure to email our attendance office or see the new Student Absence Reporting App information below. Also, please remind your child to get with their teacher about any work they missed. We would also like to remind you that your child will be at risk of losing credit and parents/guardians may have to go to court due to attendance.
Cavalier Compass is a weekly video from our school counseling team, shared with all students during their Wednesday advisory. Its purpose is to provide resources, encouragement, and real-life skills that support students both in and out of the classroom. Topics range from study habits and course planning to mental health awareness, healthy lifestyles, and digital citizenship. Our goal is to connect with students in a fun, positive way while giving them tools to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
If you have any questions about Cavalier Compass, please reach out to our lead counselor, Kasey Lucas (kllucas@conroeisd.net).
