Greetings Gearity Families:

We want to thank all our families for helping support a smooth opening to the school year! The Gearity Staff appreciate our partnership and are excited to see all of you at curriculum night on Tuesday. You can see the times listed below along with teacher room numbers. We have three class sessions set up so you can visit teachers in multiple grade levels if you have more than one student at the school. Curriculum night is a great opportunity to share contact information with your student's teachers, learn about the curriculum and your student's day.

Attendance: Please make sure that your students arrive prior to 8:45 for the start of school. Student absences can negatively impact student learning so we need your child at school every day. We will continue to have weekly attendance raffles where students with perfect attendance can win a prize. Our school is also planning a September perfect attendance challenge so help your child start the year strong!

Picture Day: Picture day is September 15th. Once I get information about pre-ordering picture packages, I will share the information with you.

PTA: Due to Curriculum Night, the August meeting is being moved to the 27th. We need help with continuing to have a high functioning PTA. Four of our officers have had to step down unexpectedly. Please see the message below for details on how you can help.

PTA Needs Your Help!

Dear Gearity Families,

The Gearity PTA is urgently requesting parent volunteers to join the PTA as soon as possible. We need to recruit new volunteers for a variety of cabinet positions as well as volunteers to assist with various school events. Over the past summer, our PTA unfortunately lost 4 of its cabinet members as well as one of our most active parent volunteers due to moving and changes in school placement. The PTA currently has vacancies for the following essential positions:

-President

-Secretary

-Treasurer

Each position can be shared with a partner to distribute the work load. Descriptions of each position and its responsibilities can be provided by anyone interested in learning more. We are having our first virtual meeting of the year on Wednesday, August 27th at 7pm via Google Meet which can be accessed here. Please consider attending this virtual meeting to learn more about the PTA and much-needed parent volunteer opportunities available!

It has been my honor and privilege to serve in the Gearity PTA for the past 4 years. I joined initially as a parent volunteer, then served for 2 years as co-secretary, then last year as co-president. During my time with PTA I have gained valuable friendships with other parents and children. I've gotten to know so many of the teachers and therapists, Principal McNichols (who serves as co-vice president on PTA), as well as our administrative staff, custodians, and librarian. Many of these wonderful people I would not have gotten to know as well if it weren't for the time I spent volunteering at school events. I've also gotten to meet so many wonderful students and their families. My children have formed friendships with the children of other PTA members, and volunteering for events is fun when you are working with friends! In addition to expanding my friend circle and getting to know the staff better, I have enjoyed seeing how much joy and value the PTA is able to bring to Gearity's students and their families. I've enjoyed promoting literacy through the book fair and showing appreciation to our hard-working teachers and other staff.

The Gearity PTA (cabinet members as well as volunteers) are responsible for coordinating, assisting with, and staffing the following important school events:

- Ice Cream Social (September)

- Math and Literacy Night (Fall)

- Two Scholastic Book Fairs (Fall and Spring)

- Family Dance (Winter)

- Family Ice Skating Event (Winter/Spring)

- Tiger 5K Family Fun Run/Walk (Spring)

- Teacher Appreciation Week (Spring)

The funds we raise help support continued programming and have provided the Gearity library with extra funds to purchase new books.

If you and your child(ren) have enjoyed and participated in these events, PLEASE consider sharing some of your valuable time and talents with our school's PTA by signing up as a volunteer, and consider taking on a leadership role by joining our cabinet. If you can't volunteer but know another Gearity family member who might be interested, you can help simply by passing on this information.

Thank you all for your time and consideration.

Best wishes to all for a wonderful 2025/2026 school year !

Warm Regards,

Julia Bissett

Gearity PTA President (interim)

Completing the Parent Annual Update

Dear CH-UH Families,

Ahead of the 2025-2026 school year, parents and guardians must complete the Parent Annual Update (PAU) for each of their children in grades K-12. The PAU allows you to:

  • Update/confirm your email address and phone number, which your child's school and the District use to contact you about emergencies, school closings, and general information

  • Update your child’s Emergency Contacts

  • Add or update your child’s Emergency Medical Authorization

  • Sign off on state-required forms, such as technology permissions

  • Sign off on your child’s District photo/media release

You must complete the PAU in order to access your child’s teacher/classroom assignment and/or schedule in Infinite Campus. Additionally, until your child's PAU for the 2025-2026 school year has been completed, they will not be permitted to participate in field trips, sports*, or extra-curricular activities. It’s extremely important that we have the most up-to-date emergency contact and medical information for your child when they are participating in such activities. To avoid these consequences, please complete your child’s PAU by August 19. Parents/guardians who do not complete their child’s PAU by this date will continue to receive reminders via email, mailed letter, phone call, etc. until this is complete.

*Please note that the PAU is separate from the information that parents/guardians submit through FinalForms for student athletes. The PAU is still required for student athletes.

How to complete the PAU

1. Log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

  • All CH-UH parents/guardians have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Parents/guardians have either self-registered or have been issued an account. Newly enrolled families receive account information via email within a few business days after their student is enrolled. If you are experiencing login difficulties or need a password reset, please contact your school’s front office staff or the Data Department at icportal@chuh.org.

2. Navigate to the Online Registration tab. This can be accessed in two places:

  • Shortcuts: Online Registration & Required Annual Update, OR
  • Main Menu > More: Online Registration & Required Annual Update

3. You will see REQUIRED in red on the Annual Update. Click Start. A new window will

open that will allow you to complete the Annual Update.

Find a PDF of these instructions here.

Staff will be on hand at the August 16 Back to School Resource Fair to assist families with logging into Infinite Campus and completing their PAUs. Please see the original message from the communications department for more information.
