Dewey Middle School Newsletter – February

As we welcome February, thank you for your continued partnership with Dewey Middle School! January brought plenty of cold weather and illness—here’s hoping for a warmer, healthier month ahead.

Thank you for notifying the school when your child is absent. This communication is extremely helpful for our office and teachers. Please remember: without parent/guardian contact, absences are marked unexcused and students may not be able to make up work. If your child will be absent two or more days, you may request their assignments to be collected for pickup in the office. We truly appreciate your support!

📚 Academic Achievement

As we move into the second semester, teachers are focused on state standards and preparing students for upcoming assessments. In March, students will complete their fourth Math and ELA Benchmark Test. These benchmarks help measure student growth—please encourage your child to do their best!

❄️ Winter Weather Reminders

Please be sure students dress warmly on cold days. If weather impacts our schedule, families will be notified through Infinite Campus Messenger. Be sure your Parent Portal contact information is up to date.
