Burke Bulletin #9
Brrrrr....
February may be short, but it sure is cold!
As we roll into the second week in February, the temps look to be staying in the Arctic zone. We continue to stay active, engaged and warm in the hallways at BTS, and even out on the playground! Please encourage your children to come prepared for outside play as this is a priority for us (yes, I'm talking about Middle Schoolers!). Unless it is below 0, we head out for some part of the day to get some exercise and fresh air. It's especially important as illness remains high in our community.
It's also important, during these dark Winter months, to get out and gather together. We will be holding a Family Engagement Night next Thursday, the 12th, focused on fun and connection. There will be fire light sledding, Valentine's crafts, square dancing and pizza! See the flier below for more information. Teachers and staff will be there to enjoy this time with families as well.
Finally, we will be headed into our February vacation from February 23-March 3. I am attaching some fliers below for opportunities through NorthWoods for this break, as well as some summer camp offerings. I am excited that the KESD Summer Camp will also be happening this summer! Students will be able to enroll and keep connected with friends and staff, while venturing out into the community for fun adventures. More info will be shared this spring with details and registration links.
