PROJECT K.I.D.S - Keep Improving District Sustainability

When a school district issues bonds, it collects taxes to repay the debt. As older bonds get paid off, the district can issue new bonds while keeping the tax rate the same—this is called a no tax levy increase. The district still borrows money for necessary projects, but taxpayers’ bills don’t go up because the new debt replaces old debt, rather than adding to it. The East Lynne 40 School District issued a bond in 2022 called "Students, Growth & Safety" and on the 2025 April ballot there will be request to issue new bonds for PROPOSITION K.I.D.S. (Keep Improving District Sustainability). This bond issue will NOT raise the tax levy and will not cause any additional cost to our community.

There are several projects the district is wanting to fund through this project.

1. Finish the HVAC Project we started in 2022 by replacing the old heat pump units. We were able to update and overhaul our GEOTHERMAL system in 2022 and now are ready to replace the old classroom units.

2. Expand our parking and repair the existing parking lot. If you have been to any school event you know that parking is limited. We are looking to expand the parking behind the FINE ARTS building and repair and reconfigure our existing lot to add MORE SPACE!

3. Other projects include: Repairing the sidewalks, addressing a drainage issue by the main entrance, and new district signage to enhance our communication of upcoming activities, announcements etc.

Stay connected and follow the PROPOSITION K.I.D.S Facebook page for updates on future projects. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61570397323086

2025-2026 Early Childhood

We are committed to providing the best possible foundation for our youngest learners. After careful consideration, we have decided to focus our efforts and resources on strengthening our Pre-K program for four-year-olds.

This decision allows us to ensure that we are offering the highest quality experience for our students, families, and community. While we are not currently able to offer a program for three-year-olds, this remains an important goal for the future. We are actively exploring ways to bring this opportunity back when the timing and resources align.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to invest in early learning and work towards making our vision a reality. The future is bright, and we are excited for all the wonderful things ahead for our young learners!
