Recently, Boyertown sent 41 students to audition at Governor Mifflin High School for the 2026 Berks Junior County Chorus. The choir is made up of over 175 singers representing 7-9 graders from all 18 school districts in Berks County. The students had to prepare and sing a selection from John Leavitt’s, Festival Sanctus. 28 of our students successfully ranked and will get to work under a guest conductor at Muhlenberg High School
on April 8 and 11, 2026.

Our winner is Kaidon Terpoilli, an 8th grader here at Middle School West who spelled "nomination" in order to secure the win. Kaidon moves on to the regional competition at Wilkes-Barre High School in March.

The Middle School West ELA 8 Team hosted their first 8th Grade Book Talks on biographies and memoirs on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Students have been reading and working in book clubs on biographies and memoirs, and as a culminating activity they presented a book talk in front of peers, teachers, and district administrators. These presentations took place across the day and gave students a chance to practice and refine their public speaking skills for the Boyertown Community project this spring. Audience members provided students with meaningful feedback to help them grow as presenters.

BASD is pleased to share that The GIANT Company is partnering with our school district’s food services department to help support our students facing food insecurity.

From now through March 31, 2026, everyone who shops at GIANT in Gilbertsville is invited to “round up” their bill to the closest dollar. The funds raised will support Feeding School Kids. Customers can also donate by converting their CHOICE Rewards Points in the GIANT app.

Our district is #BASDBEARProud to once again partner with The GIANT Company to address food insecurity in our school community. We hope you will join us in supporting and advocating for this initiative to help ensure no child in our district experiences hunger at school or at home!
