First Day Staggered Start
It is very helpful if ALL students come to school on the first day with their backpacks labled with student name and grade level
First and second grade students will arrive at the normal time 7:10-7:40. Parents may drive through and drop off their first and second grade students, or park and walk them to the front door. We will have staff members to assist students in finding their classes.
First Grade Students will go to the gym.
Second Grade students will go to the library.
From 8:15-8:35* Pre-K parents may enter the building through the front doors by the office, escort their children to the door of their Pre-K classroom, give a hug, and leave out the front doors by the cafeteria.
From 8:45-9:05** Kindergarten parents may enter the building through the front doors by the office, escort their children to the door of their Kindergarten classroom, give a hug, and leave out the front doors by the cafeteria.
We will resume our normal BHP morning schedule for all ages/grades on Friday Aug. 15th.

Arrival and Dismissal updates
Bell Schedule:
Our intructional day begins at 7:45. This means instruction will start promptly at 7:45. Students should be in their classrooms ready to learn BEFORE 7:45. Please arrive in plenty of time for students to unpack their backpacks and be in their learning areas to start the day.
Morning drop off: 7:10-7:40
First Bell: 7:40 (car rider line will end)
Tardy Bell 7:45
All students should be in their CLASSROOMS to begin instruction at 7:45.
See Maps Below- We have a new parking lot with a new traffic pattern
The safety of our students is our highest priority. Concerns were raised in our end of year survey about students hanging out of sunroofs and car windows while waiting in the morning drop-off loop. While this may seem fun or harmless, it creates a serious safety concern. Students should remain safely inside the vehicle with seat belts fastened at all times while in the drop-off line. To help address this issue our school resource officer, Deputy Cornic, will be monitoring these areas. Please help us keep everyone safe by reminding your child to remain inside the vehicle until they are safely unloaded by a staff member. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure a safe and smooth arrival for all of our Buckaroos!
There is NO car rider drop off in the front loop. All car riders will drop off through the back loop. You may still park and walk your child to the door from the front lot using our new parking area.
The only walk-up dismissal will be for PRE-K parents at 2:50.
All other parents must go through the loops.
1st and 2nd grade-back loop
Kindergarteners and their siblings- front loop
Car Tags are Required
Car tags will be provided at Meet the Teacher. All car rider parents are required to have a car tag hanging in their front windshield at pickup. Each grade level will have a different color tag to help identify cars in the loops. For safety reasons, if your school issued car tag is not displayed, you will be asked to park and check your child out from the front office.
Carpooling: For security reasons, if you car pool with other families, it is the parents responsibility to ensure the pick up parent has all the car tags for each child being picked up or a transportation change has been made through the front office.
*For a permanent carpooling situation, please contact the front office for a "special" tag.
Authorized persons for pick up: Please ensure that anyone who is allowed to pick up your child is listed in the online parent portal (skyward).
Bus Rider Information
Please download the Smart Tag parent app.
The Wimberley ISD Transportation Department utilizes the SMART tag system in all of our buses. This system helps increase safety and security for students riding on a school bus, leveraging technology to improve student management and communications on school buses. SMART tag monitors student loading and unloading, providing real-time information to the Transportation Department, and you, the parent. The SMART tag system helps WISD:
- Increase driver, school, and parent awareness
- Ensure riders load on the right bus and unload at the right stop
- Maximize rider safety and security
- Enable drivers to efficiently and effectively perform their duties

Pre-k and Kinder families
Potty Training Reminder
As we prepare for a successful school year, we want to remind families of the importance of students entering Pre-K and Kindergarten fully potty trained. At this age, our teachers and staff are focused on providing a safe, engaging learning environment, and they are not able to provide routine toileting assistance or change diapers or pull-ups.
We understand that children develop at different rates, and occasional accidents can happen. However, students should be able to independently use the restroom, manage their clothing, and complete basic toileting hygiene. If an accident occurs, students should be able to change into a clean set of clothes with minimal assistance. Sending a change of clothers daily in your child's backpack is highly encouraged at this age.
Please work with your child before the start of school to build confidence and independence with bathroom routines. Thank you for partnering with us to help your child start the school year feeling successful, confident, and ready to learn!
