Registration for Wentzville Early Childhood
Pre-K Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year will begin in February:
February 9-13: Currently enrolled and returning Pre-K families and WSD employees.
February 23: All Wentzville School District residents.
To enroll in our tuition-based preschool program, students must be 3 years old by July 31st of the year they are starting preschool.
In past years, families could choose their Early Childhood location. This year, your child’s Early Childhood site will be determined by your home address. Your address falls within an elementary school attendance boundary, and that boundary determines which Early Childhood location your child will attend. If you are unsure which elementary school serves your address, you can find it using the District’s interactive boundary map.
Early Childhood Locations by Elementary School Boundary:
Barfield: Boone Trail, Crossroads, Discovery Ridge, Duello, Green Tree, Prairie View
Samuelson: Heritage, Journey, Lake View, Peine Ridge, Stone Creek, Wabash
For more information or to register, please visit the District Website.

Passport Night
School Culture Event
We are in the early stages of planning our school culture night. Our event, called "Passport Night" is scheduled for March 5th from 5:30-7:30 pm at Journey Elementary.
For this event we are inviting families to host tables to represent countries of their cultural heritage! Thanks to the Journey PTA you will receive $25 of financial assistance to host a table.
At your table, you will share all about your country including location, language, population, and type of government on some sort of display. You will also want to share about the country's culture. This can be done by sharing about the music, clothing, decor, food, etc.
During the night we also hope to bring in cultural performances such as musical performances and athletic demonstrations.
If you are interested in hosting a table or helping setup or tear down the event please fill out the form below by January 19th. Google Form.

If they do so then they are invited to our party which is during Read-Across-America week! Students will not only get a delicious lunch, but also will receive a bag full of prizes for their participation. And the best part is they get to be part of the statewide voting to crown our Mark Twain Award winner! Donation Requests
Snacks
We keep our Food Pantry here at Journey well stocked through the year with our amazing families' support. During the school year, the biggest need are snacks. We use these snacks not only to send home, but to also provide snacks to students who are in need of them during the school day.
Donations can be dropped off in the Main Office, Monday-Thursday between 7am and 5pm.
Thank you!
Clothing Donation Bins
Doing some fall cleaning? Need room for those new clothes and shoes? We'll take them off your hands! Journey collects used clothes, shoes, and blankets in the USagain bins located in the back of the parking lot. Donations can be made any time of day or year.
What's in it for me?
Journey receives a check quarterly based on how many pounds of items we collect. This money goes directly to JES to support students and staff!
Nurse's Notes
If your child will need to take prescription or non-prescription medication during the school day, please contact Nurse Paula. Here is a link to the forms that must be filled out annually in order for us to administer medication at school. If you have any questions regarding medication or health services, our nurse’s email is paulamorrissey@wsdr4.org
Visitor or Volunteer-What's the Difference?
Visitors:
- Eat lunch with your child
- Attend a class party
- Attend assemblies
- Be a guest speaker
How can you participate as a visitor?
Visitors can show up on the day of the event/activity/lunch and check in to our buildings using Raptor, a visitor management system designed to assist with building security. Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is in our building at all times.
- When you arrive in a WSD building as a visitor, you will be asked to scan your ID and complete the management system’s check-in process.
- Raptor will screen the information against sex offender databases and locally customized lists of banned or potentially threatening individuals, instantly alert school officials to a threatening presence, and maintain a searchable log of all visitors.
- Once approved, you will get a customized visitor badge to wear while in the building.
Thank you for your support of our enhanced school safety protocols!
Volunteers:
- Work with students individually or in small groups under the supervision of the teacher or staff member
- Work inside the school, assisting staff with projects (PTA/PTO Officers, etc.)
- Work/organize field day activities
- Be a room parent, organize class parties
- Attend field trips - work with students individually or in small groups under the supervision of the teacher or staff member
How can you participate as a volunteer?
- Volunteers must register with the Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR). It provides a more extensive background check than our Raptor system, and is needed for volunteers who spend more individual time with students than our visitors.
- One-time, lifetime fee of $15.25. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to cover this one-time, lifetime fee. The online registration process can be found at FCSR-BSEES - MO.gov. (NOTE: This registration process CANNOT be completed on a mobile browser/device.)
- Once FCSR online registration is complete, you must submit a paper WSD Volunteer Registration Form A and B to the school office. When you arrive in a WSD building to turn in your forms, you will be asked to scan your ID and complete the Raptor visitor management system’s process as part of your volunteer registration. If you send your forms in to school with your child, or send them to the school office via email, please include a copy of your valid personal ID.
- Your approved volunteer status is accessible district-wide; you only need to turn in your forms to one WSD school.
- A new WSD Volunteer Registration form will be required each school year to run a current background screening if you would like to participate in volunteer opportunities.
Please note, the wait time for the FCSR Registration to be processed and for the District to be notified can be up to four weeks. We recommend completing this process as early as possible.
