From Falling Leaves to Rising Dreams From Falling Leaves to Rising Dreams

October is a season of change, and the fall leaves remind us that transformation is both natural and necessary, just like the career transitions many of you are considering. With holidays like Columbus Day and Halloween on the calendar, this month calls us to embrace exploration, courage, and even a little boldness in facing the unknown. For many, it is a time to reflect on self-sufficiency, new directions, and building something lasting before the year closes.

Next week, I will be heading to Orlando for my annual franchise conference, a chance to learn fresh strategies, collaborate with fellow coaches and business leaders, and sharpen the tools I use to guide you on your journey. I look forward to sharing those insights in next month’s newsletter, but for now, I encourage you to lean into the spirit of October: embrace change, take a step forward, and imagine what your own next chapter could look like.

All my best,
Sara

Who in your life—family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, or even someone from your gym—feels stuck in their career and unsure of their next move? Imagine the impact you could have by connecting them to the same coaching experience that’s helping you gain clarity and direction. And now, there’s even more reason to share!

As part of my Summer Referral Bonus, I’m doubling the reward! For every client referral received before December 1, 2025, you’ll earn $500 (normally $250)*. Plus, as a token of appreciation, I’ll send you a $20 Starbucks gift card once your referral completes their intro call, becomes a client, and attends their first coaching session.

Business Ownership Objection #9: “I Don’t Want to Take on the Risk” Business Ownership Objection #9: “I Don’t Want to Take on the Risk”

When people think about starting a business, one of the first words that comes to mind is “risk.” Leaving a steady paycheck or stepping away from the comfort of corporate life can feel overwhelming. Many clients tell me, “I’ve worked too hard to lose what I’ve built,” and that hesitation is completely natural.

But here’s the truth: not making a change can be even riskier. If you keep doing the same thing, nothing is going to change. We cannot expect a different result if we continue down the same path. Jobs can disappear, industries shift, and leadership changes can disrupt everything overnight. In that scenario, you are not in control.

Business ownership is not about eliminating risk, it is about taking control of it. You get to decide the model, the level of investment, the pace of growth, and the industry that fits your skills and goals. With proven systems like franchising, funding options that reduce financial pressure, and support networks to guide you, the risk becomes calculated instead of blind.

The real question is this: is it riskier to stay where you are, hoping things will get better, or to make a change that puts you in the driver’s seat? Ownership gives you the chance to stop waiting and start shaping your future.

Big Breaks for Entrepreneurs Big Breaks for Entrepreneurs

On July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law. This new legislation makes it easier, more affordable, and less risky to start a business. For anyone who has thought about leaving corporate life, OBBBA delivers real reasons to be excited about taking that step. Combined with recent interest rate drops, the timing could not be better for entrepreneurs.

Here are some of the key benefits of OBBBA:

  • Permanent tax relief: The 20% Qualified Business Income (QBI) deduction is now permanent, giving small business owners long-term savings.

  • Faster write-offs: You can deduct the full cost of new equipment, vehicles, or technology in the year you buy it.

  • Simpler compliance: Small businesses under $500K in revenue can file taxes twice a year instead of quarterly. The 1099 threshold is higher, which means less paperwork.

  • Better access to funding: A new Main Street Microloan Program offers up to $50,000 in low-interest loans, and SBA loan limits have been raised.

  • Stronger startup support: Increased capital gains exclusions, home office deductions, and credits for U.S. manufacturing make it easier to launch and grow.

In plain terms, OBBBA lowers the barriers, cuts costs, and gives you more tools to succeed. If you have ever thought about starting a business, this is a moment worth paying attention to.
