IMPACTing our School for Success - Every Person, Every Day
A message from Mrs. Holloman, Principal🍎
Dear Inspiration View Elementary School Families,
Our data is growing, and more importantly, our students are learning! We are excited to share some wonderful news with you.
IVES performed very well on our recent STAR Middle of the Year (MOY) Math and Reading assessments. Our median Student Growth Percentile (SGP) scores were:
Math (Grades 1–5): 53
Early Literacy (Grades K–1): 54
Reading (Grades 2–5): 53
These results mean that, overall, our students grew faster than 53–54% of their peers during the first semester. All areas exceeded our target median SGP of 50—something to truly celebrate! We are so proud of our students and grateful for the dedication of our teachers and families who support learning every day.
There’s also lots of excitement ahead this month!
The Planetarium is coming to IVES, and students are sure to have an unforgettable learning experience.
February is a busy and meaningful month as we head into conference week, February 9–13. Teachers will be reaching out to families they wish to connect with regarding student progress. We love conference week—it’s a special time when so many families are in our building and we get to share celebrations, growth, and goals together. Should you want to donate an item for teachers to enjoy for dinner on the 11th, please look for the link in the newsletter!
Looking ahead, March brings Boosterthon 2026 and Spring Break—hard to believe how quickly this year is flying by! Thank you to everyone who supported Boosterthon last year. Because of your generosity, so many wonderful opportunities and experiences, such as the Mobile Planetarium and Flyer Theater Group, are available for our IVES Flyers.
While it’s hard to even think about the school year coming to an end, please know how deeply grateful we are for your partnership and for entrusting us with your children. We truly love these kids and feel honored to serve your families.
With gratitude,
Pam Holloman

Intent to Return ⏰
To ensure our D49 Families have a successful transition into the next school year, we are requesting you sign into your Parent Portal account and complete the D49 - Intent to Return Ecollect form. This will communicate your plans for next year, including whether your student plans on returning to their current school or if they will be transferring to another school or leaving the state of Colorado.
This is important information for school staff to balance class sizes and ensure all students are set up for success.
If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please refer to this resource to create an account. If you need additional support, please reach out to Nicole Prewett at Nicole.Prewett@d49.org.
Book Fair Information 📚
Hello IVES families!
Our Spring Book Fair is just around the corner! This is always a fun time in our library. Please know that your online and in-person book purchases support our school library as we get a percentage of the sales to use to purchase new library books for our students to share.
The shopping schedule this spring is:
Monday 2/9 12:00pm - 4:30pm
Tuesday 2/10 12:00pm - 4:30pm
Wednesday 2/11 3:00pm - 6:30pm (Late conference night.)
Thursday 2/12 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Friday 2/13 8:30am - 1:40pm (Early Release at 12:40 for conferences. The fair will be open for one hour after school for those last minute purchases.)
For information related to our Book Fair - please click on our book fair slide link at https://tinyurl.com/mtejtkyr
Visit our online book fair and set up your child's eWallet account at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/inspirationviewelementary
Just like last year, you are able to put funds directly into your child’s eWallet account! For this fair, the types of payment accepted will be credit card and Scholastic eWallets. Please note, no change is provided for eWallet accounts. We will help your child spend the money in their account down, and anything left under $1.00 will be donated to our school library. Also keep in mind that we do have to charge sales tax.
If you open an eWallet account for your child, they will be allowed to come over to the fair to choose books to buy at certain times during the school day. Please give your child’s classroom teacher a heads up that your child has had an account created. Once the account is created, anyone can add money to it! This might be a good thing to share with grandparents and other family members that are interested in helping!
We need parent volunteers! Join us for this fun event and help us bring book joy to our students. Please reach out to Mrs. Bedell if you have completed the district background check and are able to help out. erin.bedell@d49.org
Thank you, Flyer Families, for your support of our school library! Please also remember that teachers love books! You may wish to buy a book to donate to your child’s classroom. We can help you with that! We look forward to sharing book joy in our library.

With voter approval in November, Colorado’s Healthy School Meals for All Students program will continue in 2026. School District 49 will participate in the program, offering meals at no cost to students when we return from the winter break.
In the meantime, we are sharing another reminder that the Education Benefits for Families extend well beyond meal service. Please check our Free and Reduced page at D49.org for complete information. We encourage all families to review the participation criteria and apply for these benefits if eligible.

Helpful Information for the Year đź““
Cell Phone Policy:
In accordance with district policy, cell phones and other personal communication devices (to include smart watches) should be kept in students' backpacks and turned off during the school day. These devices should not be used during school hours unless specifically authorized by a teacher for educational purposes. This helps reduce distractions and supports a positive classroom environment.
Please review the Power Zone and Inspiration View Elementary's Cell Phone Policy
Dress Code:
We ask that families help ensure students come to school dressed appropriately. Clothing should be school-appropriate, comfortable for learning and play, and in line with the district dress code. This includes items such as shorts and tank tops, which should provide adequate coverage and support a respectful school atmosphere.
Important Traffic Support Needed
Safety is our first concern. Please follow the signage for right turn only out of the parking lot. We have had several near misses recently and need to ensure the safety of all. Thank you for following the posted signage.
Please do not use the dirt lot to the west of the school as this property is not a parking lot and creates safety concerns when exiting onto Vista Del Pico. Please use the street for parking, the kiss and go lane, or the Inspiration View Elementary parking lot. Thank you!
Attendance:
If your student has an appointment, please be sure to send in a physician's note to the front office so that we can properly code the excused absence in the system. Examples might include, doctor, dentist, etc.).
Should your student be absent, parents must report this absence to the front office with a phone call (719-495-5302) or an email (nicole.prewett@d49.org). Nicole is our Attendance Secretary and is the person who can assist with the call. If you do not report your student's absence, it will be marked as unexcused. Unexcused absences are tracked and reported to D49 truancy. If you have any questions about reporting absences or truancy, please reach out to Jessica Cole (719-495-5307).
