News You Can Use, Straight From the Fox Den!
From Mrs. Olivero August 25, 2025
Dear Isaac Fox Families,
We are so excited to be kicking off our second full week of school! The energy in the building has been incredible, and our students are already settling into the rhythm of a new year. From classrooms to playgrounds, our schoolwide expectations of Be Kind, Be Responsible, and Be Safe are being practiced daily, and we are so proud of the way our students are demonstrating these values.
Over the past two weeks, we have also begun practicing our safety drills and reinforcing routines and schedules that help set our learners up for success. Thank you for supporting these efforts at home by encouraging your child to talk about what they are learning and practicing at school.
A huge thank you to all of the families who joined us for Curriculum Night. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout and to connect with so many of you. Your partnership truly makes a difference in creating a successful school year for our students.
We also loved seeing everyone at our Back to School Bash! It was such a joyful night of reconnecting with friends, welcoming new families, and celebrating the start of another great year. We even had the special moment of announcing our Spring Musical—this year’s production will be Finding Nemo! The excitement among our students is already bubbling, and we can’t wait to see their talents shine on stage.
Finally, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to our amazing staff. From Meet the Staff to the First Day of School and through these first couple of weeks, their hard work, care, and dedication have made everything run smoothly and set a positive tone for the year. We are so fortunate to have such a committed team supporting our students every day.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. With your support, we know this will be a year full of learning, growth, and wonderful memories.
In Partnership,
Mrs. Kelly Olivero

A Message from Mrs. Karol Sucec, School Nurse!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the school year! My name is Karol Sucec, and I am your School Nurse. Some of you may remember me from last year when I took over Jill Stubenvoll’s position. With 10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and as a newly elected Ela Area Library trustee, I am excited to partner with you to support the health, safety, and learning experience of all our students at Isaac Fox.
My primary role as your school nurse is to support your child's well-being by providing health services, conducting vital health screenings, managing illnesses and injuries, and promoting a healthy lifestyle within the school community. If you have any health concerns about your child that may impact their participation in school, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I am in the office Monday through Friday, and you can either call the nurse's office or send me an email. I am always happy to assist you and your student in any way I can.

Help Needed: Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
Student Dismissal Transportation Information Needed
Our goal is to have every parent/guardian share their child's main plan for dismissal with us this school year using a form. If you've yet to do so, please complete this form for each of your children. You will only need to fill this form out once. Other changes to your student's dismissal process throughout the year can be made by emailing your student's teacher directly or notifying the front office via phone before 2pm if it's a same day change. Thank you to all who have already shared this information in this format.
Back Parking Lot Closes at 7:55am
At 7:55am our back parking lot is for staff only parking. If you are dropping off in the back of the school in the morning, please pull into the parking lot near the soccer field and our crossing guard will safely escort students across the street. Thank you for your cooperation!

Piper the Therapy Dog is Coming Back to Isaac Fox!
Next Visit to Isaac Fox: Friday, September 5th
This school year, students and staff will once again have access to a therapy dog on an intermitent basis. This support will allow students who wish an opportunity to practice self-awareness and self-management skills during the school day while interacting with our guest.
We will ensure that the District’s Guidelines for Using Animals in School Facilities are followed, school grounds are appropriately cleaned following the therapy dog visits, and that the dog’s handler understands all procedures for meeting the dog’s needs during visits. No student or staff member will be made responsible for meeting any of the dog’s needs (i.e., access to water, bathrooming needs) at any point during the visits.
It is our hope that this is one more opportunity to meet the SEL needs of our students, to provide students a positive experience at school, and to help students be successful. As always, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Classroom Snacks
Students in grades K-5 are allowed snack time daily, and families should plan to send a healthy snack with their student to school.
For families who do not have the resources to send a daily snack, we do have a supply at school for students in need. Additionally, if your student occasionally forgets their snack, they may access school-based snacks.
Students should only visit the main office for snacks if they do not have them available to bring from home or if they forgot their snack for the day. Students should NOT visit the main office for a snack if they simply do not like what they have packed for the day.
Thank you for your partnership in reviewing these expectations as we begin our school year.
Birthday Celebrations
We do not allow food to be brought in for birthday celebrations. If treats are sent to school, they will not be distributed and will be sent back home with your child. Non-food items such as pencils, stickers, or other small items are welcome. Thank you for your assistance in keeping all of our students safe.
IF Office Communication-Change in Transportation
Understand that no changes in student transportation will be made without a written or verbal request from a parent or guardian.
Once we have established your designated travel, you must notify your child’s teacher and the office in writing or via phone call each time a change is made from that routine. If a change in transportation is necessary please adhere to the following guidelines: Notify the office of the dismissal change via note or phone call prior to 2pm.
We strongly discourage students from being dismissed between 2:30-2:50 pm due to the dismissal lines and buses at that time. If you need to pick your child up early, please arrange for a time prior to 2:30pm.
Health & Physical Forms
Kindergarten and any student new to the District:
Please upload any health and physical forms to ParentVUE or bring hard copies into the school office as soon as possible! If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Karol Susec.
Attendance Reminders & Expectations
As we prepare to start the school year, it is important that students and families establish regular routines to maximize student attendance to school. For younger learners, sometimes this means helping students feel more comfortable about a transition away from home and caregivers. Parents can find additional resources for students struggling with thinking about the transition back to school HERE.
Please note that for students who struggle to maintain regular attendance, parents/families will receive additional communication, conference requests, and other interventions to support regular school attendance - in accordance with state law. Parents/guardians can find more information regarding attendance in the Parent-Student Handbook.
Please take time to view this attendance expectation slide deck. Reach out with any questions or support needed.
Bus Expectations
As we approach the start of the school year, we want to remind all of our students and families of bus behavior expectations. Please take some time to review the information below with your student(s) before the start of school:
Drink water only while on the bus; other food or drinks should be kept put away
Use a voice level of 0 (voices off), 1 (whisper) or 2 (conversational volume, such as talking to someone next to you) at all times while on the bus
Keep the aisle clear when students are loading or unloading
Keep all body parts within the bus during the entire route
Remain seated during the entire route
Report to and stay in your assigned seat during the entire route
Follow loading/unloading/crossing directions provided
Exit through the designated doors only
Take all trash and personal items with you when exiting the bus
Keep all personal items with you during the route
Use your assigned bus stop
Families can find additional information regarding bus expectations in Chapter 4 of the Parent-Student Handbook; students will also receive additional instruction on this topic during the first few weeks of school. We look forward to your partnership in these efforts, and to a successful start to the school year on transportation!
