Staff Member of the Month
Congratulations to our custodian Marco - who will be honored at the February Board Meeting (2/20/2025) as the Spencer Loomis Staff Member of the Month. Thank you, Marco, for everything you do for the students and staff here at school!
Morning Arrival
Now that we are fully into the coldest months of the school year, our school drop off has increased in popularity. If you drive to school and drop off your student(s):
- Morning Arrival: 8:05-8:15am
- Pull as far forward as possible to allow multiple cars in the circular drive (to Mrs. Suppes).
- Parents, please do not exit your vehicle as this slows down the arrival process. If you do want to assist your child in exiting the vehicle, please pull into one of the marked parking spaces.
- Please make sure students are ready to exit the vehicle quickly upon arrival.
- Make sure your child exits the vehicle on the school side as opposed to the driveway side of the car. It is much safer to exit onto the sidewalk!
- Once your child exits the vehicle, you are free to go. Please do so quickly as we will keep the line moving. **We have many car drop offs, and will do our best to get through cars quickly!**
School starts at 8:15am each day. Students are marked tardy if they are not in the building by 8:15am.

Sip 'n Chat
This year, in conjunction with the District 95 Board of Education and administration, the Superintendent has started a new initiative called “Sip ‘n Chat” where up to two Board members, one or more administrators, and Dr. Gallt will be available at various locations in the community for people to drop in for conversations relating to our school district. Key administrators will also be on hand as subject matter experts in particular areas, but discussions are not restricted to only that topic. The hope is to have room for up to 20-25 people at one time, though it is also fine to come and go – please consider stopping by for a cup of coffee and a chat!

January Student of the Month
Each month, District 95 asks every building to select a student who represents our District Values of collaboration, continuous improvement, equity, high expectations, integrity, perseverance, and respect. For the month of January, Spencer Loomis chose Third Grader, Adithri K.
Adithri is a shining example of a growth-oriented learner, earning the Student of the Month award through her dedication and hard work. She has demonstrated remarkable perseverance, tackling challenges with a resilient mindset, and never giving up, even when faced with difficulty. Her coachable attitude is truly inspiring; she listens carefully to feedback and applies it eagerly, showing a true commitment to improvement. Since the beginning of the school year, she has shown tremendous growth in her literacy skills, diving into reading and writing tasks with enthusiasm and a desire to learn. An example of this is when Adithri completes extra book club work at home, so she can participate with her peers. Her efforts not only reflect her determination but also her positive impact on those around her, as she encourages classmates with her kindness and optimism. This award celebrates not just her academic achievements, but her character and dedication to becoming the best version of herself. Congratulations, Adithri, on a well-deserved recognition of Student of the Month! The Spencer Loomis third grade team, and all your teachers, are SO proud of YOU!
