Friday Updates

Dear SHS Families,

This week’s newsletter comes packed with some important announcements and news. Your time and attention is appreciated.

First, It was communicated to the school that Dennis Uniforms has closed its business after over 100 years of supplying uniforms and professional clothing across the country. We have not heard any official plans of reopening or transfer of their services. The Sacred Heart page on the Dennis Uniform website is still up, but it is my understanding that you are unable to check anything out at this time. I ask that families refrain from any uniform purchases at this time, and if you have any outstanding orders with Dennis, reach out to their customer service. I have been in talks with a few other uniform companies to find a better working solution for our families and will communicate a decision once it is finalized.

Also, as a part of the continuous improvement plan of SHS, we are looking to improve the parent feedback opportunities and streamline communication of school efforts. Therefore the school will be surveying parents, staff, and students the week of November 18th through November 22nd. The information gathered from this survey will go towards solidifying the school’s mission and vision, and provide community input for myself, Father, and the School Advisory Council as we work on initiatives and strategic planning for the school. This week is marked on the School’s Google calendar. Be on the lookout for more information coming soon.

There are also a lot of exciting events for SHS families and students to look forward to. Monday, October, 28th we will not have school, but that doesn’t mean we have to spend the day away from the school. We will be having the SHS Trunk or Treat in the parking lot. Please see the flyer for more information. I hope to see you all there. Also, SHS will be participating in the Veteran’s Day Parade on November 9th. Meeting times for floats have not been announced yet, but we would love for our students and alumni to ride or walk with our float, supporting the school.

With Faith & Hope,

Patrick (P.J.) Greer
