Welcome Back SSS!

Hard to believe it's back to school time already! I hope you all had fun and refreshing summers. We are excited to have everyone back in the building for another year full of learning and fun!

My name is Heather Hunt and I am the School Adjustment Counselor at SSS. This is my third year at SSS and I am happy to be back! I am a master's level clinician who works closely with teachers to help support students here in the building who are struggling to meet their SEL needs.

My goal is to help every student feel happy, safe, and ready to learn! If your child is in need of support, the first step is to reach out to their teacher. From there, we will work together to explore ways to best help your child.

Be on the lookout for monthly SEL newsletters with articles, information, and resources for students and families throughout this school year. I look forward to seeing all of our returning students and meet our new friends joining SSS!

Teaching Kids How to Deal With Conflict - Child Mind Institute

No one likes dealing with conflict. But no matter how hard we try to avoid them, arguments, fights and disagreements are a fact of life - for adults and for kids. And not dealing with conflicts when they arise can negatively impact relationships and lead to further interpersonal challenges down the road.
