Principal's Memo
Henderson United
Week of September 7th- September 11th
Attendance!! Attendance!!! Attendance!!!!
Every day at school matters. Regular attendance plays a vital role in a student’s academic growth, social development, and overall success. When students are present and engaged each day, they have more opportunities to learn, build relationships, participate in activities, and stay on track toward their goals.
Families are an important part of this success. By making school attendance a priority, establishing consistent routines, and encouraging students to attend every day, families help their children develop habits that can lead to success in school, in their community, and beyond.

Attendance Matters
Showing Up Is the First Step Toward Success!
Every school day is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect with others, and make progress toward your goals. Regular attendance matters. When students miss school, they can miss instruction, assignments, classroom discussions, relationships with teachers and classmates, and important opportunities to stay on track.
Being proactive about attendance can make a big difference! Students can take ownership of their success by:
- Getting enough sleep and establishing a consistent morning routine.
- Using a calendar or planner to keep track of school responsibilities.
- Asking for help early instead of waiting until they are far behind.
- Communicating with a trusted adult or counselor when something is making it difficult to attend school regularly.
- Setting attendance goals and celebrating progress along the way.
Remember: Every day counts, every class matters, and every student can take steps toward success. If attendance has become a challenge, please don't wait. Reach out, ask for support, and make a plan.
