Every child. Every day. Every child. Every day.

We would like to express a sincere thank you to our entire Lincoln Family! We would like to express a sincere thank you to our entire Lincoln Family!

We often hear that when you are at Lincoln, you are part of a family. The phrase "Lincoln Family" is known throughout St. Joe. The meaning of that phrase came to life in the halls of Lincoln this week. Our Lincoln staff cannot find enough words, or even the right words, to express our gratitude for all of the celebrations that occurred on their behalf this week. We feel so fortunate to serve our Lincoln families each and every day, and this week we felt the love from all of you. Thank you to our PTO for the coordination of effort and resources from all of you! A special thank you to Nick Geany for 2 full days of staff lunches! I have included a few pictures below with the hope that you can feel some of the joy that all of us experienced this week. We are so thankful to be a part of the Lincoln Family--we appreciate ALL of you!

Other People Mindset

Dear Families,

This week our school community will be focusing on a review of the 24 character strengths and the Other People Mindset.

Over the course of this year, we have gained an understanding and appreciation of the 24 character strengths that are in all of us. Every 1-2 weeks we learned about a different character strength or Other People Mindset element. This knowledge has helped us build strong relationships with other people and become our best selves. People who have strong positive relationships do five things consistently - these are the five practices of the Other People Mindset. 1. Recognize the good in other people, 2. Recognize that everything you say or do affects other people, 3. Support others when they struggle, 4. Cheer people on when they succeed, 5. Remain present when giving people your attention. People who have a strong Other People Mindset are able to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with others.

This year, by deliberately and consistently teaching students that relationships are important — and that positive relationships are cultivated through character and the Other People Mindset — our school community has experienced firsthand how positive relationships help us become happier, healthier, and more resilient.
