Driver of the Month

On Friday, one student from each class was selected as the Responsible Driver of the Month. Each student that won this award was able to call home, have a fun lunch bunch in the library, and earned an extra recess. We have many students at Wasmer who are responsible day in and day out with not just their actions, but also with their words. In the mornings, students would share how they were responsible the day prior and these are the things students are doing without asking to show they are responsible: having materials out and ready for the next subject level, cleaning up paper towel pieces in the restrooms, walking quietly in the hallway, cleaning up their areas in the lunchroom, helping to pick up extra equipment when recess is over, listening quietly when their peers are sharing their thinking in class and much, much more. The classroom winners were:

Kindergarten Grosvenor: Benjamin Partida

Kindergarten Nabity: Carter Vogel

First Saathoff: Sebastian Rojas Puerta

First O'Neill: Fatyma Vera Lugo

First Randall: Iram Mejia Crescencio

2nd Christensen: Marlon Mirabal Alvarez

Second Anania: Breylan Galmes Alvarez

Second VanWormer: Marianna Castro

Third Jones: Emma Vogel

Third Jensen: Alan Galaviz

Third Battershaw: Emily Ren-Ramos

Fourth Zuelow: Sophia Roush

Fourth Hanover: Marivel Morales

Fourth Resendiz: Kinsley Alarcon Dominguez

Fifth Cook: Levi DeLeon-Matias

Winter Clothing Items

As our kids come to school in layers, I would like to encourage everyone to label jackets, gloves, hats, and coats. Our lost and found is overflowing. If you've noticed that your student's coat hasn't made its way home from school, please ask your student to clean out their locker and/or check the lost and found. Parents, you are welcome to come in during arrival or dismissal to help your students look for missing items.

Wasmer Christmas

Third City Christian Church has organized Wasmer Christmas (December 15th) again for our students. This event is something the church, our students (past and present), and our staff hold near and dear to our hearts.

Please read the details below:

Before the event: community members can donate items to the school or sign up to serve during the event (setting up or wrapping gifts for our students). If you would like to sign up to volunteer, please use this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C044DA5A72FA0F5C34-60322004-wasmer#/

During the event: each student is able to go shopping for their items, take pictures in a mini photo booth, and have their gifts wrapped.

After the event: each student will take their wrapped gift home!
