Note from the Principal
The 2025-26 school year is off to a great start! Shadowlawn Seahawks came back excited to and ready to learn. Our teachers have hit the ground running with engaging lessons and rich content to provide our students a fantastic learning experience this school year.
Please join us this coming Tuesday, September 9th from 5:00-6:30 for our Curriculum Night event. We are excited to welcome you to our campus and share with you important information for the year ahead. Bring your kids, as we have some fun activities planned for them too!
Every Thursday we send home weekly communication folders with students. Inside will be important information for the week such as permission slips, informational flyers, and more. Some weeks will be information only, while others will be items to fill out. Please make it a family habit to "check the folders" each Thursday and return to school on Friday.
Our entire school team including administration, our school counselor, teachers and staff are here to support your child and family in a successful school experience. Should you need anything, please contact the school.
In Partnership,

Character Traits of the Month
At Shadowlawn, our character traits for the month of September are citizenship and patriotism. Being a good citizen entails following rules as well as being respectful, responsible, and helping others. Patriotism is when one loves and is proud of their country. As always with our character traits, we are on the lookout for students exhibiting these traits! Students chosen by their teachers may attend our monthly “Student of the Month” celebration on September 26th!

Around the School
Kindergarten
Kindergarten Students started the new school year with excitement and smiles! 🌟 We have been learning classroom routines, practicing math with counters, and enjoying coloring activities. Students are also learning how to share, take turns, and work together as part of our daily positive behavior lessons. It is going to be a wonderful year of learning and growing!
1st Grade
What a fantastic first week back to school! Our first graders had an amazing time getting to know their new classroom and each other. We spent the week learning the routines for our daily center rotations and building math fluency by counting to 120. We ended the fun-filled week with a sweet treat courtesy of the Sheriff’s Office!
2nd Grade
Our second graders are thrilled to be earning AR points! They’re reading daily, taking AR tests, and some have already received Brag Tags for their achievements.
3rd Grade
3rd grade is off to a fantastic start in reading these first couple of weeks! Our third graders loved reading Spaghetti in a Hotdog Bun and even tried the tasty (and a little unusual) treat. Some thought it was delicious, others weren’t so sure—but we all agreed it’s fun to try new things!
4th Grade
4th graders have started the school year off strong and ready to learn! Reviewing figurative language in Ms. Kuhn’s ELA class and conducting experiments as scientists in Ms. Bolonda’s Science class!
5th Grade
Fifth grade is off to a busy and exciting start! Students have been diving into research projects on the Seven Wonders of the World, showcasing their curiosity and creativity. Along the way, they’ve led interactive review sessions and worked hard every day to build strong skills and teamwork.
