Wildcat Weekly- 5/18-5/22

Message from Principal Martinez 🐾
Dear Wildcat Families:
In these next few weeks, we are looking forward to memorable experiences including field trips, student programs, classroom celebrations, and year-end activities that showcase and celebrate our students. These moments create lasting memories and provide opportunities for our school community to come together in celebration of learning and achievement.
As we move into these busy and exciting weeks, we encourage students to continue showing responsibility, kindness, and perseverance as we finish the year strong together. We look forward to celebrating all that our students have accomplished and enjoying these final special moments as a school community.
Thank you for your continued partnership, encouragement, and support throughout the year. Your involvement helps make these experiences meaningful for our students and strengthens the sense of community we value so deeply.
Highlights from this week...
Librarian for the Day 📚
Rebecca McPhie had a wonderful time serving as “Librarian for the Day” in our school library! She worked hard all day long — helping with library tasks, inventorying math books, and even reading aloud to two preschool classes. Rebecca did an amazing job and brought so much enthusiasm and joy to the library. We are so proud of her leadership and helpful spirit!
Leading with Pomerado Pride
We are so proud of our Student Council officers, Carter Ferguson and Colbie Wegner, for representing Pomerado at the recent school board meeting! Carter and Colbie did an outstanding job sharing all the exciting things happening on our campus, including state testing, field trip season, and our Volunteer Appreciation Brunch. They highlighted the many ways our students, staff, and families work together to make Pomerado such a special place. Thank you, Carter and Colbie, for your leadership, confidence, and wonderful representation of our school community!
Information from the District Office
Remaining Funds on Student Cafeteria Accounts
Cafeteria account balances carry over from one school year to the next, and between school sites, as long as the student remains in PUSD. If you are a family of students who will be graduating seniors or students leaving the District, you will need to request a refund of your unused balance or transfer the funds to a different meal account. Instructions and the Refund/Transfer Request Form are available on the PUSD Food and Nutrition webpage.
E-Bike Safety Event
The 4S Ranch Sheriff’s Substation, CHP, and SDPD are hosting a family-focused E-Bike Safety Event on May 23, 9 AM–12 PM at Stone Ranch Elementary School. Families will learn e‑bike traffic rules, theft‑prevention tips, and key safety practices for young riders. For more information, please view the event flyer.

Spending Spotlight: See Your Impact!
Ever wonder where the money goes when you support our fundraisers? 🤔 We want to keep you in the loop on how those funds are helping our students! 🏫✨
Here is a look at what we've been able to do lately:
🐾 PAWs contributed $3,400 to support one month of our Launch Lab STEM program with Mr. Shaw! 🔬🧪 During weekly Launch Lab visits, students take part in engaging hands-on challenges like:
🌉 Bridge building
🚢 Buoyancy testing
🏗️ Engineering design activities
These experiences make science fun, interactive, and memorable! 🧠💡
We’re able to fund these awesome adventures and hands-on learning experiences because of your support. We couldn’t do it without you—thanks for making this possible for our kids! 🌟🙌
