Greetings Panther Families,

Only a couple more days remain before the halls are full again. The first day of school is Tuesday, August 20th. School starts at 8:15, so please make sure your students have enough time to get to their 1st period class before 8:15am! There may have been changes to the schedule your student received on Prep day last week, so we will have a master list of everyone's first period class hung up in the cafeteria. Students will receive their official school schedule in their 1st period class.

If you would still like to drop off the school wide school supplies, you or your child can drop them off in the main office before school starts.

Curious about drop off and pick up? See below for all the details and pictures. Please only use the front parking lot for drop off and pick up. The side and back parking lot is for faculty parking and busses.

There has been a change to the over the counter medication policy for Comal ISD. This has been communicated out from the district, but I wanted to make sure everyone was aware. See letter below if you have any questions.

I would like to encourage all parents to sign up to be a part of PTA. Our goal is to have a voice for every child on campus. Which means we need upwards of 780+ members. The CHMS PTA does so much for the students and faculty. I hope you are able to join! Just visit JoinPTA.org to join today!

When dropping your child off in the mornings, enter our parking lot from Business 35 (by the football field) or off of Church Hill Drive. Please pull up to the flag pole before stopping to let your child out, as this keeps the flow of traffic moving. After you drop off your student, turn right to exit onto Business 35. Do NOT turn left to exit onto Church Hill Drive, as this cause major traffic issues. Following these procedures will make dropping your child off faster and more efficient for everyone.

You will only be able to enter the flow of traffic from Business 35 (by the football field) off of Business 35. Pull all the way around, and park in the front of the school. Please keep moving forward as cars leave the line. Please do not stop to pick up your student if there is space in front of you. As you continue to pull forward, and your student is not out yet, just wait at the front of the line. Once you have picked up, pull into the left lane to pass the cars that are still waiting and turn right to exit onto Business 35. The green line on the picture below shows the only place in the parking lot that we allow students to be picked up. Do not park in a parking space. Students are not allowed to enter the parking lot during pick up.

The first 2 weeks of school will be the busiest, as parents and students get use to the procedures. But after that, the front lot is usually cleared by 4:10pm.

I highly encourage you to NOT pick up your student at the gas station next door or on Church Hill Drive. The park and ride lot across the street is very full every day, as the Tesla Factory uses that lot for a bus pick up and drop off of their workers, and it is usually around 4:00pm. The 7 Eleven has called the police to ticket cars that are using their lot for pick up. They have signs posted that parking is for their customers only. I want everyone to get home safe. Please be patient and show kindness toward other drivers.

The black line in the picture below is a no parking or standing area. You are not allowed to pull over to drop off or pick up students in this location (between the school and the tennis courts). This includes pick up and drop off for athletic practices and events.

Walkers will cross the drive at the crosswalk near the tennis courts, walk along the fields and exit out the back gate towards Church Hill Dr. and the street that runs behind GFES.

Join us on the first day of school, Thursday, August 20th, at Infernos in Gruene. Just mention that you are with CHMS and they will donate a portion of all the sales back to the CHMS PTA.

Free and reduced lunches will still be available for students who qualify through an application process. Parents are encouraged to complete an application to see if they qualify for free and reduced meals for the 2024-2025 school year.
