Lockdown Drill Notice
On Monday, May 19th, we will conduct a Lockdown Drill with students at 10:25 am. The drill will last less than 5 minutes and is initiated by an all call announcement that states, "Lockdown. Locks, lights, out of sight." When this announcement is made, students will be directed to move to a location in their classroom out of the sight of the door while the teacher ensures that the door is locked and shuts the lights off. Students will remain seated and quiet until the all clear is given a few minutes later. Anytime we have this type of Lockdown Drill, parents can opt their students out of the drill by picking their student up from school during the drill. On Monday, we would ask that students are picked up by 10:15 am and returned to school after 10:40 am. We ask that parents that come during the day to pick up their students contact the office via the buzzer at the front door (Door 1). On Tuesday, please arrive before 10:15 am so we have time to send your student outside to you prior to the drill beginning at 10:25 am. If you have any questions about the Lockdown Drill, please reach out to me.
Thank you,
Steve Johanson

5th Graders going into 6th Grade in August- Important Information
We’re excited to welcome students to middle school and want to make sure families feel informed and supported as we approach the start of the school year. The first day of school for our incoming 6th graders will be TUESDAY, August 26. On this day, 6th grade students will have the building to themselves—a great opportunity to ease into middle school life. They’ll spend the day getting comfortable with their new surroundings, practicing locker combinations, walking through their schedules, and building connections with teachers and classmates. While the optional 6th grade transition camp is no longer taking place in the middle of summer break, this first-day experience is designed to offer all students similar support in a more focused, real-time setting.
Our 7th and 8th grade students will join us starting WEDNESDAY, August 27. We’ve heard a few questions from families and elementary school staff about the transition camp, so we wanted to provide this update and will continue to communicate clearly as the first day approaches. We’re looking forward to a great start to the year for all of our students!
PLEASE CHECK THE LOST & FOUND
All items will be donated on the last day of school.

Picking up your student during school hours 🏫
Please note that when students have to leave during the day, they will remain with their class until their pick-up person has arrived and either called the office or buzzed the door. Due to confidentiality and students not getting picked up at their specified time, we can not have children waiting in the office. Please understand that if you need them at a specific time for an appointment, you may need to come a few minutes earlier so we have time to get them from their classroom.
