MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Fowler Family,

I would like to take a moment to remind parent drivers that we cannot have parents pick up or drop off students via the Tiedeman entrance as that is exclusively reserved for bus transportation pick up and drop off from 8:00AM-8:45AM and 2:45-3:30 PM each day. We have posted an additional sign and will begin meeting parent drivers with gentle reminders that we need to use the Walnut Street entrance for future pick up and drop off needs.

We also need to report that we have some budding entrepreneurs in the building who have been selling soft drinks, energy drinks and snack items out of their backpacks and lockers. While we applaud the entrepreneurial spirit, our district prohibits these sales. If you see your student stuffing 24 drink cans in their backpack, please remind them that this is not a permissible activity on school campus.

Have a great week,

Andy

HAPPENINGS

This is the last week for Homework Help. It will conclude this Thursday, December 8. After School Activities and Homework Help will begin again on Tuesday, January 17. Watch The Fowler Weekly for sign-ups.

Spirit Week is coming! The last week of school before Winter Break, our leadership students have set a schedule for Spirit Week. Rumor has it that there will be a prize for the Morning Meeting class that has the most participation.

Monday, December 12 Color Out: Wear bright colors

Tuesday, December 13 Sports Day: Wear Jerseys, t-shirts, etc

Wednesday, December 14 Long Winter Nap Day: Wear PJs, Comfy Clothes

Thursday, December 15 Formal Day: Wear your finest attire

Friday, December 16 TBD

Lost and Found items will be leaving the school building after Friday, December 9. If you were unable to check the mammoth pile of clothing, shoes, lunch boxes and more, during Family Partnership Meetings, please remind your student(s) to check it for any items you may not have seen recently.

Attention 6th grade parents! Please mark your calendars for Outdoor School. Our 6th grade students are scheduled to go March 13-17. It is one of the highlights of sixth grade in Tigard-Tualatin Schools. Outdoor School is where the study of ecology, science, math, and conservation of resources takes place in a real life setting. Through hands-on activities, students develop an understanding of individual parts of the environment and how the parts fit together. Outdoor School will take place at Trickle Creek Camp and Cedar Ridge Camp this year. Both camps will be supervised by Fowler 6th grade teachers along with camp staff. Our hope is that all 6th grade students will be able to attend Outdoor School, and this year we are excited to offer this experience at no cost to students and families. Please watch The Fowler Weekly in January for more information.

Reminder: If you drop-off your student or pick-up your student, please take a moment to read the following Drop-Off and Pick-Up instructions. We consider the parking lot directly in front of the school closed between 8:00-8:45am and 2:45-3:30pm. Please use the Walnut Street entrance and tennis court lot to drop-off your student or pick-up your student.

CLIMATE SURVEY

This is a reminder that we sent out our Climate Survey last week asking for your feedback. We invite all caretakers to complete this survey for our school. The survey is anonymous and brief. It contains 21 questions and will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You can take the survey online by using the following link: https://www.pbisassessment.org/Anon/AG400DEs400. Please submit your responses by the end of the day December 7, 2022.

PSO

A message from the PSO: Falcon Families, it is that time again to spread some holiday cheer and show off your baking (or shopping) skills! Each year we do a holiday cookie swap for our Fowler Staff. We provide the cookies as a well deserved thank you and each staff member gets to take home a platter filled with all the goodies! A nice variety of wonderful treats they didn't have to make. So please share your favorite recipe or bakery treat to help wish our staff a happy New year!
