Message from Principal and Assistant Principal

Early Release Day

On Tuesday, January 10 the district will be having an early release day for professional development. Our dismissal time is at 11:45 am and we ask that you please let the school know if your child will go home in a different manner than their typical Tuesday. For those of you who would like to order a lunch for students to take home you can use the below instructions from the CPS Food Services:

If you would like your child to have lunch on future half days, the online ordering is open for you to go ahead and select those dates.

Student ID: This can be found on x2- Child’s student ID number
Last Name: (You can also search and add siblings/family members at this time). Once this is completed, student’s name should appear on page.

How to order meals

School Menu-select online lunch ordering (all schools)
Scroll to week of half day/early release date (top right of page)
Find date, select meal option
Add item to cart/Select Add to order
Click on shopping cart icon at top right of page
Click Check out
Select pick up location: Elementary pick-up location classroom. Middle/high school pick up location cafeteria.

Bus Push Week and PBIS Reboot

Next week will be highlighting our bus location for a push week while we also "reboot" our PBIS expectations for the new year. Students will be viewing our expectation videos and participating in scenario cards to develop problem solving skills.

Kindergarten Registration

Book Your Appointment Now

Click on the RESERVE YOUR APPOINTMENT link to enter parent/guardian contact information and preferred appointment time within a three-hour window. You will then be contacted to confirm a date and time for your registration appointment. Registration packets may also be dropped off at the School Administration Office, 230 North Road, Chelmsford, MA:

Monday – Friday; 8 a.m.-4 p.m., if you are not able to attend these two dates.

In addition to the completed student registration packet, the required documentation to submit is listed on the CPS Student Registration page.

HEARING AND VISION SCREENINGS January 17-18-19

We will be holding state mandated hearing and vision screenings for our Byam students January 17-18-19.

Grade level screenings include:
KG: hearing, vision, stereopsis (if not already submitted for entry to KG)

1st: hearing, vision, stereopsis

2nd: hearing, vision, stereopsis

3rd: hearing, vision, stereopsis

4th: distance vision

If you prefer your child not participate in our screenings, please send a note in writing stating this.

You may email (regana@chelmsford.k12.ma.us) or send in a written note to Nurse Regan no later than Thursday, January 12.

Each Byam student will be allowed to bring one special adult for the evening. There will be two time slots to accommodate all students. (Families with multiple children, or schedule conflicts, can choose either time slot.) Pizza and snacks will be available.
