Zebra Nation,

As we settle into the month of October, it is very important for every scholar to dig in and put a heavy concentration on your academics. The time is now as the traditional 1st Quarter is moving right along = 2 weeks to the end of the 1st Quarter. You got this! We got you!

As a part of our State Mandates, we run several safety drills throughout our school year - fire, tornado, lockdown, and evacuation. At the end of this coming week, we will be running our first evacuation drill. We do these evacuations two times a year. When would we evacuate WMHS, where we would need to leave campus? If we had a fire, or a gas leak, etc. When we evacuate WMHS, we go to Adams MS. Weather permitting, we will stay outside and gather at their athletic field.

Have a great week!

Bright Futures

Bright Futures is an afterschool program that focuses on youth voice and youth leadership. The majority of our clubs are planned and led by students with adult support. Much of our activities are led by students. We have a Youth Advisory board that meets regularly to plan larger events or field trips, gather and report feedback from students, and discuss issues as they arise.

We meet Monday - Thursday from 2pm to 5pm in room 78 (past the art wing). Everyday, we do some community building activities and then have a variety of different clubs students can join. We also offer time and space to do homework, and homework help. Everyday we have a meal in the cafeteria around 4:15. There is no cost to attend.

If interested, please fill out our interest form at this link

Please see the flyer for our club schedule.

ATTENTION SENIORS:

MSU ONSITE ADMISSIONS Event coming October 29!

The 2027-28 FAFSA Form is Available!

Did you hear? The 2027-28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is available now at fafsa.gov. Most students can complete the form and see their results in 15 minutes or less.

Additionally, the following resources are available to assist students and families in completing the FAFSA:

  • How to Create a StudentAid.gov Account Guide: This step-by-step guide is easy to print and share.
  • 2027-28 Preview Presentation: This guide to completing the new online FAFSA form will familiarize you with what’s new and common user scenarios.

College Rep Visits are in full swing. Check out the list of colleges that have already confirmed a date and sign-up if you are interested. You can attend up to 5 rep visits so choose carefully.

MI College Match is a new direct admissions program available in the state of Michigan allowing seniors to create a profile and then 'match' with 20 colleges in Michigan that are participating. Students will receive admissions offers at no cost and without even applying to the individual colleges!

We had 32 students meet the 1st priority deadline for MI College Match. Those students have a received a total of 463 admissions offers to colleges and earned $21.3 million in scholarships without even applying to those colleges. Just imagine where we would be if we can get more of our seniors to complete their MI College Match profiles and upload their transcripts.
