Welcome to a Brand New Year

This year at West Hill Stem, we will "Discover a 'bRainbow' of Possibilities." That is not a typo, we will discover the endless possibilities of our brains AND we will be a part of a colorful rainbow that comes after the storm of the last few years. It is going to be a beautiful year filled with lots of fun, and learning! All of us at West Hills are excited to take this journey with our children and to welcome families back into the building. We are able to supply school supplies for all students again this year. The only thing your student needs is a backpack. We also have some backpacks to pick up at our Welcome In Event on August 31st. Headphones and Water Bottles are nice to have if possible. Teacher assignments will be available on Friday, August 26 at 4:00. You can find them on Family Access the same way you were able to view your child's report card last year. If you need help, please call the office at 360-473-4600. You will also be receiving a welcome email from your child's teacher as long as we have your correct email address. Need to update? Be sure to fill out your ABC's (Annual Back-to-school Checklist) in Skyward.
Finally, we get to have families back in the building. We are looking forward to welcoming you back or welcoming you in for the first time! We would love for you to come in and tour the building and participate in the following activities:

  • Find your child's classroom
  • Meet the teacher!
  • Photo Booth in the Flex space
  • Popsicles with the Principal, Mrs. Morley-Short in the flex space
  • Explore our new childcare partner, Right at School
  • Backpacks will be available if needed
  • Find and greet Griffy our Griffin Mascot
  • Reunite with friends!

Principal Teneka Morley-Short

I am very excited about the upcoming school year. It is exciting to be new and meet all new people and learn about the traditions and the legacy of West Hills STEM. I cannot wait to meet and learn more about you and your families. I would love to talk with you and hear your stories from West Hills. What are the best parts? What challenges do we need to face together? What are your hopes and dreams for your children and how can we support them while they are here at West Hills? I have been in education for 30 years, 29 of which have been right here in the Bremerton School District. I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grade as well as been a Reading Specialist and an Instructional Coach. I have spent the last 9 years as the Principal at Crownhill Elementary. I chose to come to West Hills STEM Academy this year as an opportunity to expand my Bremerton Family and join all of the families and staff in the work to provide opportunities for al lof our Griffons.

My husband and I live in our empty nest in Seabeck. Our boys, Spencer, Parker, and Carson have flown the nest. We enjoy spending time as a family.
