Habit 1 - Be Proactive. You’re in charge of your decisions.

I am a responsible person.

I choose my ACTIONS, ATTITUDES, MOODS.

I do NOT blame others for my wrong actions.

I do the right thing without being asked even when no one is looking.

It’s vital to teach kids to take responsibility for their own lives, for their own fun or boredom, for their own happiness or unhappiness.

What can you do to teach your child to be responsible for his/herself?

1. Do something nice for someone else. Make a card, draw a picture, clean up.

2. Try doing something today that you’ve been scared to do that will be helpful. Make a new friend, raise your hand in class, or wash the dishes.

3. The next time you get mad and want to say something mean or rude don’t say it and think of staying quiet or smile, or say something kind.

4. If you do something wrong, say you’re sorry before someone asks you to apologize.

5. Be responsible. Get ready for school on your own; pack your own lunchbox.

β†’Send in a photo of your child doing these things at home and we will feature some of them in the next issue of the Crocodilian. Email the photo along with the student’s name, teacher, and grade to Katye Wilkinson at kwilkinson@lexrich5.org by October 15th.

STOP it Solutions

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are pleased to announce that our school has enrolled with STOPit, by STOPit Solutions. STOPit is an online reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors, consisting of an app and a back-end incident management system for school administrators.

We encourage you to check out the STOPit solutions website at https://www.stopitsolutions.com/, download the STOPit app and search for your students' school using the directory. You can privately ask for help for your student, family, others you care about, or even acquaintances who appear to need help.

Together, we can make sure everyone in our community gets what they need to thrive. Thank you! Sincerely,

Jason Bebber
