Our Outstanding Specialist Team

November 7, 2022

Good Morning Memorial Families,

It is a very strange week ahead for us. Today is a full day of school, then we have three early release days in a row, leading into a three day weekend with the Friday holiday. Please not that dismissal will begin at 12:10pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

In January we will reconvene our Student Advisory Council. This group serves as a leadership group for our students, and will lead schoolwide initiative and efforts in the second half of the school year. If your child is in the third or fourth grade and is interested in serving on the student advisory, please have him/her complete this form by Friday, November 18th. We will be limiting this group to 12 students this year to keep the meetings a bit more focused and manageable, and we hope to have a representative from each classroom in grades 3 and 4. Your child will be notified before the Thanksgiving break. Meetings for the SAG will be one Wednesday morning a month at 8:00am.

A few reminders about drop off in the mornings. If you are driving your child to school, you need to utilize the drop off line. We have noticed an increase in parents who are parking and walking children to the front door in the morning. Only our preschool families should be utilizing the parking lot to park and walk to the school. Please use the drop off line if you are dropping your child off. As a reminder we begin instruction at 9:00am. When your child arrives after that time, they miss the opportunity to settle into the school day and participate in morning meeting. Please do your best to have your child here on time.

On conference days, we will have our lost and found set up in the lobby. Please take a minute to check out the very large pile of clothing that has accumulated over the past several months. If you haven’t already, please write your child’s name in their coats, sweatshirts, and jackets as those articles of clothing tend to be removed during the day and then left in random places.

.

Have a wonderful week. We look forward to seeing many of you over the next few days for parent-teacher conferences!

Warmly,

Wendy and Lauren
