Grammar Surgery
Who says grammar can't get your heart racing? At Plato Academy Seminole, Mr. Durspek's fourth graders suited up in surgical gear to perform the ultimate operation: dissecting the English language.
With scalpels replaced by highlighters and patient charts swapped for sentence diagrams, these young linguists got down to business identifying verbs, extracting adjectives, and diagnosing misplaced modifiers.
The prescription? A hefty dose of laughter mixed with serious learning. Turns out, when you treat grammar like a blockbuster surgery drama, even the toughest subject becomes irresistible. Dr. Durspek's orders: grammar has never been this much fun.
Learning Greek
Learning Greek, one recipe at a time!
At our St. Petersburg campus, Mrs. Kalligas' students researched and presented traditional Greek recipes, connecting language to culture and cuisine!
At our Clearwater campus, Mr. Aretis' class staged a full cooking session, describing every step of making a cake, in Greek.
And at the big finish? They pulled a perfectly ready cake straight out of the oven. We're not asking questions. We're just proud of every single one of them.
Tipi tents in the classroom
A campfire crackling on the smartboard. Book reading by the teacher.
Mrs. Fordham's class went camping recently, and the kids were all in.
They immediately started exploring, pointing, whispering to each other, picking their tent spot like it was the most important decision of the day.
No bugs. No sunscreen. A lot of the excitement.
For young children, imagination is always an adventure.
The early years are full of moments kids carry with them for a long time. Days like this one are a big reason why. At Plato Academy Schools, kindergarten looks a little different every day.

The Steve Christopoulos Education Scholarships
Some stories come full circle in the best way. This year, the Steve Christopoulos Teacher Scholarship went to two Plato Academy alumni, Juliana Tsiouklas and Niki Glynatsis. They grew up in our classrooms, went on to earn their education degrees, and came back, this time as teachers. We could not be more proud to have them on our team.

Gabriel Elias Kolettis, Class of 2016
Gabriel Elias Kolettis graduated from Plato Academy Clearwater in 2016 and went on to attend Palm Harbor University High School through its competitive medical magnet program. He earned his Bachelor of Exercise Science from the University of South Florida and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at National University of Health Sciences.
Gabriel credits his time at Plato Academy with giving him skills he relies on every day, and he holds a special place in his heart for two teachers who made a lasting impression, Mrs. Parker and Kyrios Kostas.
His favorite memory? The fifth-grade field trip to Greece with students from the other campuses. "We had an amazing time and made a lot of new friends and new memories," he recalls warmly.
