MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS

Dear Eagle Families,

We understand that immigration is a concern for some families and recent events have made some of our families feel worried or unsure. We are here for you and I am confident that stakeholders in our community will work together to keep all of our students safe. All of our students are important members of our school family, no matter their background or immigration status. Even during difficult times, you can send your children to school knowing that we will take care of them and make them feel like they belong.

To be clear,

* We WILL NOT ask for the immigration status of our students or families.

* We WILL NOT share student records with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, except in the rare case where there is a court order or consent from the parent/guardian.

* We WILL NOT allow ICE agents access to our school unless they produce a criminal judicial warrant signed by a federal judge.

Even in that rare instance, our district has a team of lawyers available at all times to review those warrants.

Parents and students can find information and resources on immigration rights on the CPS website (cps.edu/newadminguidance). There are also workshops families can attend to learn more about their rights.

Our school is a safe place, and we are committed to keeping all students and staff safe and supported. Our teachers and staff care about your children’s well-being and work hard to make sure our school is a positive, supportive, and safe place to learn. Please make sure your contact information is up-to-date at school so we can reach you if needed.

Onward and upward,

Principal Banks

Students Run Chicago Informational During Lunch Periods on 2/3/25

Students Run Chicago challenges high school students to experience the benefits of goal-setting, character development, adult mentoring, and improved health by providing them with access to a comprehensive mentor-based running program. They pair volunteer running leaders with teams of students to inspire them to push themselves further than they ever imagined. Their goal: the completion of a 5K, 10K, half, and/or full marathon. The courage and effort required, the unfailing support of invested mentors, and the excitement of its ultimate achievement results in a student who realizes anything is possible.

Students Run Chicago is eager to partner with Lindblom and is looking for students who are interested in engaging in this program. They will be hosting informational sessions during lunch periods in the cafeteria on Monday February 3, 2025.
