Roaring to Success : November Edition
DMS Lions on the Prowl for an “A” Rating!
Lions, we are well on our way to a strong finish as the 2nd grading period comes to a close, and I couldn’t be prouder of the energy and focus across our campus! Our Lions are Roaring to Success — STAAR academic goal setting is complete, and we’re pushing forward with purpose as we aim to increase TELPAS composite scores and strengthen daily student engagement through our Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing initiative: “A little, a lot of the time.”
We’ve had a great start to testing season with PSAT administration completed and benchmarks on the horizon. Our first ADSY Saturday Tutoring “Roar-Views” session was a big success, with 11 teachers and many students participating—only five sessions remain, so let’s keep the momentum going!
Our student-athletes continue to make us proud! Going on now is tennis and cross-country, up next is girls basketball, boys soccer, and baseball—our staff and student dedication reflects the Lion spirit both on and off the field. Attendance also remains a key priority, and we’re excited to continue our incentives for Perfect Attendance, made possible by our amazing PTO.
Our Insta-Raise fundraiser is currently at $6,415, and while we’re hoping for a stronger finish, we’re deeply grateful for every contribution toward our shared goal—a new awning to enhance our campus!
A reminder that our second SBDM meeting will take place in November, details coming soon! We continue our collaborative work to increase student achievement!
Lastly, we look forward to honoring our heroes at our Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 10th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Let’s stay focused, united, and continue to roar with pride—because together, we’re building an “A” campus!
