Principal Message
Hello to all Washington families and happy almost last day of school. Here's wishing each Wildcat a fantastic and safe summer filled with lots of imaginative play, great books, and memory-making experiences!
~ Camp Ignite Transportation Letters/Information went home in backpacks TODAY for those students who are registered for Camp Ignite. Please make sure to locate that letter in your child's backpack and keep that information somewhere safe so you know the transportation times/info as Camp Ignite approaches. Camp Ignite begins on Monday, July 7.
~ As you likely know, the last day of school is Thursday, June 5. We end the day with a parade, led by our amazing Kindergarten students who walk through the hallways and out door #9 to the cheers and applause of the older students. The 5th graders end our parade and walk outside through a path lined with all the Wildcats, cheering them on and wishing them well. It's a great chance to celebrate any number of amazing things, most notably being the student success and growth that has occurred during the 2024-25 school year. Please join us in celebrating if it works in your schedule.
~ Save the Date & Mark Your Calendar: We are again hosting a summer Wildcat Reading Event at Spring Lake Pool on Sunday, June 22 from 6:15-7:45. This event is open to ALL Washington Wildcats and their families. It is FREE, and the pool will not be open to the public during this time, so we'll have it all to ourselves. The concession stand will not be open. We would love to see everyone attend, so mark your calendar. We will send reminders out as it gets closer. Bring the whole family, for what is sure to be a great summer event!
~ Summer PTO Working Meeting: We are planning a summer PTO meeting on Wednesday, July 9 at 5:00pm. We will be meeting at Pioneer Bank. Please join us if you are able, as we do much of our planning for the year at this time.
~ Fall Pictures: It's definitely not anything to concern yourself with at the moment, but some folks like to plan ahead. Due to the District 77 calendar change, Lifetouch will not be able to offer pictures at Entrance Conferences. They have agreed to offer a before-school picture day on Wednesday, August 20th from 7:00am-7:00pm. We recognize that this date will not work for all students, but we also wanted to offer a day before school started for those students and families who might be able to do pictures on that day. As the summer marches on, more information will be shared with the package options, the volunteer needs, etc.
I am a proud Principal to an amazing Wildcat family made up of students and families who are truly second to none! Here's to a GREAT summer!
