On behalf of the entire Kildeer Countryside School District 96 community, we want to extend a heartfelt congratulations to our students at Twin Groves and Woodlawn Middle Schools on their outstanding achievement in being selected for ILMEA (Illinois Music Education Association). Their hard work, dedication, and commitment have truly paid off, and we are incredibly proud. Superintendent Katie Sheridan had a wonderful time meeting with students, hearing more about their experiences, and awarding them with certificates of achievement. Please join us in congratulating these incredible students!
Board of Education Information
During Tuesday evening's regular Board of Education meeting, Board of Education President Marc Tepper announced that he is stepping down as President. Mr. Tepper will remain a board member and will stand for re-election this spring. After serving in this position for more than two decades, Mr. Tepper explained publicly that this decision is meant to serve as the start of a new chapter for the district and is not due to any personal or health-related issues.
Mr. Tepper is invoking Board of Education policy 2:110 by turning the board over to Vice President Mike Burns who will be stepping into the role of President. Additionally, the Board selected Dr. Amy Feygin as the incoming Vice President.
"I have been blessed to serve as Board of Education President for almost 22 years, one of the most rewarding and enjoyable periods of my own personal growth. This is an extraordinary group of people including our Superintendent and Administrative staff. I look forward to continuing as a board member with Mr. Burns as our Board President," said Mr. Tepper.
Mr. Tepper, Mr. Burns, and Dr. Feygin will work together to ensure a smooth transition for the Board of Education and for the district.
