Boyden Weekly Update

Dear Boyden Families,

Happy new year! It was great to see the students back after the holiday break and hear about their time with family and friends.

We had a great Patriots Spirit Day today. There was lots of patriots gear and/or red white and blue around the school. Thanks to Mrs. Lyons class, everyone who drives by Boyden will know who we are rooting for!

MA School Library Association Bookmark Contest is Back

Have you heard the buzz? The annual MSLA bookmark contest is officially open for students in grades 2–5! Sponsored by the Massachusetts School Library Association, this year’s theme is: "Something for everyone at the library."

Students learned about the contest rules and theme during Media class this week. Please note:

Optional: This is a voluntary project. Students may work on their designs at home, during choice time, or during indoor recess.
Entries: Blank entry forms are available in the Media Center.

Deadline: Please submit all completed designs to Mrs. Moses in the media center by Friday, February 6.

Book Checkout Resumes

We are excited to get books back into students' hands! Checkout resumes next week. To help our library run smoothly, please remind your child to return any books they have finished or are not currently reading. Here’s to a making 2026 a great reading year!

Private Lessons through the WPS Music Department

The Walpole Public Schools Music Department is pleased to announce the spring session for our Private Lesson Program for students in grades 4 - 12. If your child is interested in taking private instrument or voice lessons, here is your chance. Lessons are offered in flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, tuba, piano, percussion, violin, viola, cello, guitar and voice. All lessons are taught by accomplished performers on their respective instruments. Some lessons are currently being taught virtually.

Session 2 will run February 2nd to June 12th. Registration is open Friday, January 9th through Monday, January 26th.

Daniel Feeney Preschool Applications

We are excited to announce that the application window will officially open on January 5, 2026.

This program offers a wonderful opportunity for children to learn and grow in an inclusive, engaging environment. Please review the following important details regarding the enrollment process:

Application Date: Applications will be available starting January 5, 2026.
Selection Process: All peer slots will be filled via a lottery system. This means there is no advantage to applying "first," provided your application is submitted within the designated window. The application window will remain open for two weeks.

Sweetheart Dance

A favorite events is right around the corner: The Sweetheart Dance on Friday, February 6 from 6:30–8:00 PM at Boyden School!

We need volunteers! These events take a village, and we truly can’t do them without help! This year we are purchasing all décor, food, beverages and can really use your help running the actual event. Please sign up HERE —any amount of time or support makes a big difference!
