.Hello Lake Creek Families!

It’s Principal Brigette Hayes calling to say hello and keep you posted on our goings-ons at Lake

Creek. I’m going to try to keep this to about two minutes—and, as always, I’ll reward you for

hanging in there with me with a couple of my favorite Dad Jokes at the end!

Well, October has certainly been a busy month! And while I often tell you about all the fun

extras happening at school, I want to assure you that we are teaching and learning with gusto

every single day!

This month, our students enjoyed some wonderful field trip adventures, including visits to the

Ashland Welcome Center and Pheasant Fields Farm! And speaking of growing things, our

kindergarten and first-grade students have been busy learning all about plants and plant

propagation. The beautiful plants they've been growing are now brightening up our school, and I

just love seeing their learning on display!

And today, we wrapped up October with our Walk-a-Thon fundraiser! What a wonderful way to

bring our little school community together, get some exercise, and have a whole lot of fun!

Looking ahead, picture re-takes are November 4th, and our PTO-sponsored Fall Fun Festival is

Thursday, November 5th, from 6:00 to 7:00 in the evening! I hope you'll come out and join us

for an hour of family fun. A big thank-you in advance to our wonderful PTO families for making

this event possible!

Then, on Friday, November 6th, we'll hold our Veterans Appreciation Assembly at 2:00 in the

afternoon. Families are welcome, and we especially encourage you to invite the veterans in your

family so that we can recognize and thank them for their service!

Monday, November 16th, is a no-school day as teachers work to prepare for end-of-quarter

grading. Parent-teacher conferences are coming up soon after, so please contact your child's

teacher to get your conference scheduled. And remember, there will be no school November 26th

and 27th for Thanksgiving.
