Faith Builders for our Dancers

Each month our dancers learn a Bible Verse that coincides with our Annual Theme, and this year we are focused on God's Grace!

Younger dancers get to color the Bible verse sheets, and all dancers take those home with the Monthly Highlights on the back.

For our IGNITE, GLOW, and ILLUMINATE dancers, we wanted to dive a little deeper into the passages, and so Faith Builders was created to help dancers see how God's Word helps shape our FAITH - DANCE - LIFE! This is the Mission of MKS along with our six Core Values: PURPOSE, WISDOM, EXCELLENCE, COMPASSION, RESPECT, & JOY.

This month, we are looking at how Ephesians 2:8-9 relates to FAITH & PURPOSE -

"God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this: it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."

We are saved by grace! As the verse says, this is a gift. But like with any gift, we have to actually receive it from the giver, open it, and use it! Rejecting the gift and/or putting it on the shelf is an option, but we pray that all would receive this free & awesome gift.

Also, once we receive this gift & are saved (justified), we are called to live out the PURPOSE that God has for each of us, becoming more and more like Christ (sanctified).

Dancers are considering ways they can actively live out their FAITH in their daily routines - through the reading of God's word, praying, attending church, doing worship dance, and however else God is leading them!

I am encouraged to find ways to commune with God & others every day, that I may fully experience His amazing grace, and I pray you are too!

Jesus Reigns,
Michelle Revelle

Meet Ms. Shayla!

Ms. Shayla has been dancing for over 35 years and teaching with us at MKS for 8 years. Tap, Jazz, and Modern/Contemporary are her favorites (but she really loves all styles!), and when she’s not dancing, she loves being outside, baking, and playing sports with her family. Ms. Shayla just celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary, and she is a proud mom to two energetic boys, ages 8 and 10.
