Principal's Corner
Dear Hirsch Hawk Parents and Guardians,
This Friday, we will celebrate Grandparents Day, a special opportunity to honor the important role family plays in our lives. As we enter this season of gratitude, it’s a wonderful time to reflect with our children on the many people, big and small, who support and love them every day.
Families can model and teach gratitude in simple, meaningful ways this season:
-
Say “thank you” often – not just for gifts, but for everyday acts of kindness.
-
Keep a gratitude journal – encourage your child to write or draw something they are thankful for each day.
-
Perform acts of kindness together – helping others, donating items, or volunteering can show children the joy of giving.
-
Share family stories – talk about past generations, traditions, or moments that remind your family of the importance of caring and gratitude.
In the spirit of giving, we are also challenging our Hirsch families to participate in our school-wide food drive. This is a great way for our students to put gratitude into action by helping those in need in our community. Every donation counts, and together we can make a meaningful difference.
Don’t forget to visit our Scholastic Book Fair this week! Parents can shop late on Thursday until 7 p.m. It’s a perfect way to spark a love of reading and pick up a few new favorites for your family.
We look forward to celebrating our grandparents and all the families who support our students. Thank you for joining us in showing appreciation, giving back, and fostering a love of learning this season!
Warmly,
Principal Patterson
