Thank you for attending Grandfriends Evening. It is so heartwarming to have so much support from our families and special friends. It was wonderful to show off our beautiful playground. Sadly, we have already had some vandalism to our new playground. We have cameras on the playground and our Resource Officer is investigating. If you notice damage over the weekend or evenings, please email me so that we can more quickly narrow the timeframe.

We are preparing for Parent/Teacher Conferences in October. Check out this video to help you sign up on Skyward. Teachers will be reviewing the outcome of assessments. Indiana Code (IC) 20-35.5 requires schools to administer a universal screener to all kindergarten, first, and second grade students annually to identify students who may be "at some risk" or "at risk" of not reaching reading proficiency. This early identification of students who are not on track to be proficient readers allows early implementation of targeted support. Additional information about this testing will be provided at conferences.

We have lots of exciting activities scheduled for October. We look forward to the Outdoor Classroom Day, Fire Safety Day, and the after school Trunk or Treat event. Please be aware that we are planning a Fire Drill on the morning of Friday, October 10th. The Center Township Fire Department are planning to "respond" with lights and sirens on their trucks. This will kick off Fire Safety day. We appreciate the amazing volunteers that are donating their day off work to help our students learn to be safe. What a fun-filled month!

The Kids Heart Challenge is back! Our students will be joining together to raise funds for the American Heart Association while learning the importance of heart health, making healthy choices, and staying active.

Dates to Remember

• Fundraising Period: October 13–31, 2025

• Event Week: Healthy Choices Week (Red Ribbon Week Oct. 27-31)

This year’s fundraising will be online only. No cash or checks will be accepted.

Fun in PE Class! During Healthy Choices Week, students will get their hearts pumping by participating in exciting Kids Heart Challenge obstacle courses during PE classes!

Why Participate?

Please send a bag of candy by 10/15 if you plan to attend. This event is for Crichfield families only.

Our first through fourth grade students will be attend this assembly on October 13th.
