As of January 2020, Microsoft will retire Windows 7 and stop issuing security updates. If your district computer hasn't been updated to Windows 10, please make sure you complete the steps in the document attached below to update your district computer to Windows 10.

Windows 10 includes the Snip & Sketch app to take and annotate screenshots using a number of tools including a ballpoint pen, pencil, and marker. There is even a ruler and protractor to assist you with your screenshots and annotating.

When you Restart your computer and Promethean Board, it closes all apps, turns off the PC, and then turns it on again. Your computer and Promethean Board should be Restarted at least once a week in order to pull updates from the district.

In the bottom right corner of your computer and Promethean Board the Boot Time shows the last date and time your device was restarted. How long has it been since you last restarted your device?

Do you need/want to add additional info (text) to your lesson planner template? Simply type the new text that you want to appear in your "blank" lesson planner template, click the Save Button, then click the More Lesson Options button (the wrench icon) and choose Set as Default Text for Entry. Now each time you go to complete your lesson plans the template will reflect the new text you added to your template!

The Aldine ISD film workshop for this semester will take place on February 22nd, 2020, at the Bamberg building. The event will start at 8:00 am and will go until 4:00 pm (Video screening starts at 2:30). The event will conclude at 4:00 PM. Students are responsible for their transportation.

Teachers MUST attend with their team and will be compensated $25.00 per hour for the day of the workshop. For this workshop, we will be focusing on "using what the students have." The focus will be on using the tools the students have available to them. This can be a phone, a digital camera, or anything they have accessible.

The other change in this year's workshop is we will be giving the students a video "challenge" that will be announced that morning. We will provide teams with what must be in the video (a word or a phrase) and a required prop. The prop will be something common but will need to be in the video. We will inform the teams of these items on the morning of the workshop. Link to sign up

We would like to acknowledge the Jones Middle School Social Studies department on the success of using Schoology as a way of distributing exit tickets and assignments since the beginning of the school year! The department was trained back in September and have been integrating aspects of the program since then. They have also begun to put some of their ideas in the Social Studies Middle School Resources group for the district to utilize. Thank you to Connie Guillory and her entire social studies team for embracing the district's online learning management system, Schoology!
