Bellerive Bulletin
April 12, 2026
Dear Bellerive Families,
Our campus is looking great thanks to all the staff and families who participated in Saturday's Clean the Campus event! We appreciate everyone who attended and want to thank the PTO for organizing the day and donating the materials and supplies!
Tomorrow, Monday, April 13, is the deadline to complete the Returning to Bellerive Form and submit Class Placement Input.
Field Day is around the corner, and we are excited to once again welcome parent/guardian volunteers to this fun event. We are in need of parents/guardians (who are approved Parkway volunteers) to help run the Field Day stations. Please see the sign-up below!
We hope to see you on Wednesday for Leadership Night plus the PTO's End-of-Year Picnic and the Book Fair! As a proud Lighthouse School where we uphold the 7 Habits and show that all students are leaders, this is one of our most important events. Please join us--all the details are below!
In partnership,
Joey Kneer

ACTION ITEMS--DUE MONDAY
1. Returning to Bellerive Form
Is your child returning to Bellerive for the 2026-2027 school year?
We need your help preparing for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Our staffing is dependent on student numbers. In order for us to plan for the next school year, it is important that we have accurate information on who will/will not be returning to Bellerive.
We ask that you complete a SEPARATE FORM for EACH CHILD in your household to help us with our records and planning.
We request that these be submitted no later than Monday, April 13. Thank you for your help!
2. Class Placement Input
We are beginning to develop our class lists for next school year, and we strive to create a balanced classroom environment for our students. Please know this is a challenging process that involves multiple variables. When planning, we take into consideration students' academic needs, learning styles, peer relationships, gender, ethnicity, social-emotional needs, and much more.
Your input on how your child learns is important to our decisions on class placement. Please take a moment to fill out this survey for your child. We know you know your child best! We ask that you complete a SEPARATE FORM for EACH CHILD in your family.
If you choose, you may share other factors you would like us to consider during class placement. We will not be honoring specific teacher requests, so please do not submit a teacher request on this form.
Your child's current classroom teacher, specials teachers, other specialists, counselors, and administrators will review the input you submit and work together to create the most balanced classes we can in order to best support the learning and growth of all students.
Thank you so much for your input. Responses are due by Monday, April 13, 2026.

MAP Testing Parent Information
Grades 3-5
At Bellerive Elementary between April 28 and May 8, students in grades 3-5 will participate in Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Students in 5th grade will also participate in MAP Science testing. Information from the MAP gives students’ parents and teachers an important measure of each child’s learning. It also helps your child’s school make sure children are receiving a high-quality education.
While specific information about test dates and schedules are provided by your child’s school, below is some general information for you about this year’s testing and how it is different from previous years:
How is the test set up?
As with many other assessments in Parkway, students take the MAP test on computers. Many students began taking online assessments in Parkway several years ago. Tests taken online often have more interactive and engaging test questions.
When will we receive results and how are they used?
Parents will receive individual student results for ELA and Math prior to the beginning of the following school year. Individual student scores are one piece of information to go along with all the other things teachers and parents know about each child. Overall results are used by your child’s school and district to identify areas of strength and need within Parkway’s curriculum and to make sure we are providing the best possible education for each child.
How can I help ensure my child is prepared to take the test?
The MAP tests address learning that has taken place throughout the year, so the most helpful things you can do as a parent are making sure your child is well-rested, well-nourished, and is present during testing times. Your child’s teacher(s) may also have specific test-taking tips or activities to assist students in feeling prepared.
Whom can I contact if I have questions?
Depending on your question, your child’s teacher, counselor, or principal may best be able to assist you. You may also feel free to contact Parkway’s assessment coordinator, Carter Snow, by e-mail (csnow@parkwayschools.net) or phone (314.415.7047).
