Patriot Peek atthe Week NewsMarch 8th-12th

Dear Wolf Ridge Students and Families,

Today marks the end of the 3rd quarter. Report cards will be ready next Friday for viewing/printing via Teacher Ease. Today also marks one year from the day we were told our schools would be shutdown. Since then, we have overcome so much. I continue to be impressed and proud of our students, parents, teachers, staff, and school community. We have supported each other through some very difficult times and continue to persevere.

This past week has been a true celebration for everyone! We had so much fun dressing-up and spreading kindness during our Score Big with Kindness and School Breakfast Spirit Week. Students and staff participated in virtual assemblies each morning which included a school-wide workout, cheers with the Patriot cheerleaders, an 80s dance party, kindness songs, and a cereal domino drop in our hallways. Watch the Weekly Wolf Ridge Announcements to see pictures and videos from throughout our week!

Kind regards,

Mrs. Ronen

WE DONATED 400 BOXES OF CEREAL! WE DONATED 400 BOXES OF CEREAL!

Ms. Huebner's class donated 80 boxes of cereal! Her class won the prize for the most boxes donated. Ms. Gockel's class donated 71 boxes coming in second place. Since both classrooms were so close, they will both enjoy an ice-cream party on Monday.

Thank you to all of our Wolf Ridge Patriots that donated cereal throughout the week. Our school was able to donate 400 boxes of cereal to many area food pantries and our own Blessings in a Backpack Program. Check out the video below to watch our cereal boxes drop like dominos during our virtual assembly today!

PATRIOTS ARE REGIONAL CHAMPS! PATRIOTS ARE REGIONAL CHAMPS!

We are very proud of our 7th Grade Patriot Volleyball Team! They won the Regional Championship on Thursday, March 11th against St. Francis. They will now go on to play in sectionals on March 17th. We hope you will watch the live streams on their Facebook page, "BH Jr. High Volleyball Live Streams" and cheer them on to victory!

LEARNING SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS LEARNING SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS

Ms. Manar visits our classrooms weekly to provide social-emotional learning lessons. This month, students learned about their emotions and how to manage them with calming down strategies. Watch Ms. Gockel's third-grade classroom below dancing and singing to Second Step's Calm Down Song. Be sure to ask your child about the steps they can use to calm down big emotions.

Will You Be Remote for 4th Quarter? Will You Be Remote for 4th Quarter?

Please call our school office at 618-585-4831 if your child plans to learn remotely for 4th quarter. Decisions made will have to last for the entire 4th quarter. While we have been flexible up until this point, we want as many of our students to return in-person as possible. Now is a great time to return to in-person learning as we have not had any cases in our school since winter break! Please let us know if your child will remain remote throughout this final quarter or if you would like for them to switch to in-person. Students will not be able to switch from in-person to remote and vise versa during the 4th quarter. We would love to have all of our students learning with us in-person!

SUMMER LEARNING OPPORTUNITY SUMMER LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

If you have not already, please click on the link below and complete a very quick survey on your interest in our summer learning program at BHCUSD8. We are asking ALL families to take this survey regardless of your interest.

We will share out many more details in the months to come. However, at this time, we would just like to get an idea of how many students would be interested in joining us this summer.

There will be an official sign-up at a later date. All students are welcome to join. If numbers are too great, then we will accept students into our program based on need.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
